Least favorite of the series, but still so good.

I love this series. It is my favorite of Maas's series so far. I like this book a lot. and the narrator on the audiobook is fantastic throughout the series. I don't love this book as much as others in the series. it starts off too slow. and I am more interested in all the side characters than what Celaena is doing. she's just too mopey in this book (understandably so, but it takes her too long to come out of it and start doing things.)

fun start to what promises a fun series

I really enjoyed it. there were a few parts it dragged for me. but I loved the characters and I can see how it is a set up for a cool series. I didn't love the narrator. her regular voice was a bit nasaly for my taste, though she did a good job differentiating the different characters voices.

I liked this book overall. I wasn't a huge fan of the POV changes that it would randomly get omniscient when most of the time it was limited. and the romance was a little underwhelming. I enjoyed the world and the magic and the overall plot.

I loved the story and disability representation. the middle was a little slow but it picked up again. I loved the alternating perspectives but the Harper Narrator was much more engaging to listen to than the Ren narrator. I found myself zoning out sometimes in his chapters. I can't wait for book 2!

this is one of the best audiobooks I've listened to! I got it for free as an Audible Original one month. I only picked it because I listen to Dan Wells in writing excuses. And I was blown away by it.

We listened to it on a long road trip with my 7 year old and he adored it. great choice to have multiple narrators fully acting out the story. my son was super engaged and didn't want to get out of the car when we got to our destination!

I am so excited that the next story is out!
