had really good potential but then the main character kept getting more naive when the author was as trying to convince you of the exact opposite. strong female lead is supposed to be just that STRONG

the main character was so naive it just made it feel like she was forced to be that way to make the story work. her constant back and forth with herself even though it's blaring obvious throughout the book. again good concept poor choice of main character

found Nina beyond frustrating and what was attempting to come across as a mother doing whatever it takes to find her daughter, ends up being repetitive and so many SMH because so obvious moments it just wasn't happening for me.

good concept but characters ruined it
Revisado: 11-23-22
the constant back and for between Angie and Maddox is annoying it completely drags away from the really interesting crime story. take out 8 hrs of this book and that would all be "Angie Maddox spectacle" I even gave it a 2nd attempt and still couldn't do it.
i don't think I disliked a book's protagonist as much and Angie and her inability to follow common sense or use the word THANK YOU OR PLEASE.

Frustrating Character's Complete Incompetence
Revisado: 05-19-22
story started off good, I enjoyed first book. but as it went on and I continue to have the thought "why aren't they doing the COMPLETELY obvious next steps or better yet actually thinking like the "detectives" they are portrayed as. when you have cops rationalize EVERY obvious clue as "coincidence" there is a big problem. could have been good and cut down time by half if the characters took a second to think.

the initial premise seemed promising, but once started more and more frustrating. the main character POV about her husband and mental illness was disturbing and cold. finished this book with a feelings of annoyance and frustration. overall do not recommend. also predicted from beginning the "who done it"
