Small town romance
Revisado: 12-23-24
The main characters were engaging and their love story centered around a tragic accident that occurred years beforehand. I enjoyed both of their stories and the things that drew them together. I wasn’t a fan of the open door sex scenes. I’m sure they appeal to the YA audience but they are so predictable. I would rather have more of the relationship intimacy.
Still a recommendation though and the audiobook narrators were great.

Poppy and Alex. Alex and Poppy. They have nothing in common. She’s a wild child; he wears khakis. She has insatiable wanderlust; he prefers to stay home with a book. And somehow, ever since a fateful car share home from college many years ago, they are the very best of friends. For most of the year they live far apart—she’s in New York City, and he’s in their small hometown—but every summer, for a decade, they have taken one glorious week of vacation together.

A little cheesy but loved the ending
Revisado: 06-24-23
Combine Emily Henry and narrator Julia Whelan and the result is worth the time. I found the story to be a bit frustrating because these are supposed to be adults not teenagers. The story is still fun and a great beach read.

Unique ideas in this story
Revisado: 06-21-23
A somewhat confusing narrative to this story. It felt like the plot tried to do too much and therefore didn’t accomplish enough. Parts of the story were interesting but hit or miss.

Great conclusion!
Revisado: 05-24-23
I’ve enjoyed this trilogy. This was a great conclusion and sign of the Mark Edwards writing style as it has developed. Overall, I liked this one the best, the first of the Magpies books second best, and the middle book least. It’s interesting that the concept for this story was turned away by publishers. He turned it into a terrific series.
