Historia
In telling the story of how I came to be cast as Atticus Finch, I think back to the young actor I used to be. I imagine the older me and the younger me sitting on a bench in Central Park. I imagine our conversation. The first season of Alive & Well Enough wraps up with “The End,” a song I recorded years ago with my Circle Rep friend and fellow songwriter Jonathan Hogan about looking back on a life spent telling stories.

This made my week
Revisado: 11-13-23
Jeff said “thanks for listening. I needed this.”
But it left me thinking- Thank you Mr. Jeff, we needed you.
After the final episode of his podcast, it left me longing for more.
I am missing hearing Jeff’s jokes already. Laughing out loud at the metro, side walk- this really made my week.

Chanel, Thank You
Revisado: 09-14-23
I chocked up multiple times listening to this book. It made me angry furious to the point when I had to stop and stump at my own chest. I
t made me look back on anyways if I had hurt someone.
It taught me that I matter. That I have a voice. Shown me ‘yea I had that too- and now i see I wasnt crazy. It was legit that I should be angry.’
Also how so many ways the system in our society is messed up.
Being “nice” being a “yes person” doesnt fix anythjng, doesnt “butter” anyone, doesnt make lives better. The opposite - if makes it worst.
Being honest with myself- opens you to be honest with others. Being honest with others allows others to be honest with themselves too.
And moves everyone forward.
This book taught me that I have a voice.
I am important. And you are important.
I matter and you matter.
I admire the truth and honesty written so clearly in this book.
You’re a living testament.
Thank you Chanel.

Historia
At 28, Stephanie Land's dreams of attending a university and becoming a writer quickly dissolved when a summer fling turned into an unplanned pregnancy. Before long, she found herself a single mother, scraping by as a housekeeper to make ends meet. Maid is an emotionally raw, masterful account of Stephanie's years spent in service to upper-middle-class America as a "nameless ghost" who quietly shared in her clients' triumphs, tragedies, and deepest secrets.

One of the greatest, moving stories- and a real one!
Revisado: 07-12-23
My mum raising me like a single mum, this book resonates so well within my heart. Stephanie’s resilience and her love for her daughter is so profound. It leaves you goosebumps after reading the last page. Her descriptions are so real, it’s like you are seeing the situation through her eyes.
The most remarkable thing is that- this is real life that she’s talking about. I remember parts of my childhood where we were so poor that we couldn’t tell others how poor we were. People had no idea.
Anyhow- I just recommend this book.

Historia
In this exquisite story of family, food, grief, and endurance, Michelle Zauner proves herself far more than a dazzling singer, songwriter, and guitarist. With humor and heart, she tells of growing up one of the few Asian-American kids at her school in Eugene, Oregon; of struggling with her mother's particular high expectations of her; of a painful adolescence; of treasured months spent in her grandmother's tiny apartment in Seoul, where she and her mother would bond, late at night, over heaping plates of food.

Thank you Michelle. You helped me appreciate my mum so much more - not to take a single act of kindness that she pours each day. I also see Korean food and culture in a new light.

Historia
Before Liz Lemon, before Weekend Update, before Sarah Palin, Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: A recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've always suspected: You're no one until someone calls you bossy.

Humaity
Revisado: 05-08-23
This book had such depth and understanding of the human mind- it helped me understand my own heart. I guess it helped me be more understanding of myself and left me warm-hearted.
I was moved by the real life characters (including Lori herself) of how they matured and lived along side their daily challenges of pain and suffering.
It helped me to see life, how precious it is. (Sounds cliche but true!)
Thank you!

Listen to it!! Five star!!
Revisado: 12-11-22
This really lifted me up for I could related so much to Quinta as she shares her stories and struggles in a honest and funny way- in her own way only she can describe.
I truly loved and just want to say Thank you Quinta!
I don’t know how to describe the audiobook but to say that, at the end of it, it made me focus on what I want to do in my life, on my childhood, how I was brought up and encouraged to be the very best of who I am.
Encourage others to do the same!

Historia
Just as I Am is my truth. It is me, plain and unvarnished, with the glitter and garland set aside. Here, I am indeed Cicely, the actress who has been blessed to grace the stage and screen for six decades. Yet I am also the church girl who once rarely spoke a word. I am the teenager who sought solace in the verses of the old hymn for which this book is named. I am a daughter and mother, a sister, and a friend. I am an observer of human nature and the dreamer of audacious dreams.

Bigger than myself
Revisado: 02-15-21
This book inspired me to become something bigger than myself. And that through God’s hand.
I didnt know of Miss Cecily Tyson coming from Korea, but how I got to know her through this book! I loved it, cherished her wisdom and experience. Also I got to see the world through her eyes too. I had been ignorant of those prejudices that abound so much.
All being said and done, I am so inspired by Cecily Tyson and Arthur Mitchell. I hope to pass something on to this society and dream bigger than that of myself.

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.
