The official editions of the King James contained the books of the Apocrypha until 1796. Most printers did not clear inventories and change to the 66-book version we know today until the mid 1800's. Ethymologically, the word "apocrypha" means "things that are hidden", but why they were hidden is not clear. Listen to find out more!

Stirring, Inspiring and Convicting

Alisa Childers’ documented journey is an intensified version of what I have been experiencing to a lesser degree. I’ve been presented with a number of “social issues” in light of Christianity by other Christians and feel that I am expected to bend convictions that I believe are non-negagotiables. I was led to the Apostolic Fathers writings where I’ve been exploring how they delt with very simular issues. A close friend heard of Alisa’s book and went through it. Knowing of my wrestling, he elected to gift a copy to me because of the inner turmoil I had expressed to him. This book helped me to articulate my experience through this. Before reading this book I thought of apologetics as something to equip myself to help others. The fact is that apologetics is for me when I am faced with a question of faith regardless of where the question originated. This book is stirring, inspiring and convicting.
