Historia
The human race has all but destroyed itself and those who remain know that they must avoid repeating the mistakes of their ancestors. But it’s extremely difficult. Without horses, it would be impossible. Amarilla is one of those chosen by a horse as a Bond-Partner. She looks forward to a lifetime of learning from her horse and of passing on the mare’s wisdom to those seeking help. But then she discovers that she is the one for whom the horses have all been waiting. The one who can help them in return.

This story beings me to a whole new relationship with my horses
Revisado: 01-28-24
This story taught me more about horse and human partnership than 40 years of lessons. I was not impressed, however, with the narrator. She was British which represented the author but she did a poor job with her male voices, especially Justin. This is a central character in the series and she made him sound like an evil, old man. The entire book series is my favorite repeat read. I have the entire collection and all the ancillaries. I love Lynn Mann’s vision of a future with horse counselors.

Historia
John Saint Ryan has traveled the world working with horses. His behavior with all students—whether equine or human—aligns with his principles, a rare and admirable practice. He shares his knowledge with agility, openness, humor, and grace, often in a poetic manner. This audiobook is a joy to listen to, as you’ll discover John's love and humility when he describes the lessons his mentor, Tom Dorrance, helped him learn. His humor shines through as he recounts horse stories from earlier days.

A good melding of stories and lessons
Revisado: 04-21-23
I liked that the author started out in classical dressage and found his was to Tom Dorrance and listening to what the horse has to say. His experience covers dressage, western, Spanish, mules, amature and professional aspects of training. An intelligent and insightful read.

Joe, an ugly and unloved horse, trusts no one, and no one trusts him. Until Vicky. This is the story of a troubled horse and the little girl who loves him. Based on the true adventures of the author's childhood 50 years ago, Joe teaches the lesson that sometimes beauty is not skin deep, but heart deep. That the unloved have much to show us about the true nature of love.

Historia
You were on your way home when you died. It was a car accident. Nothing particularly remarkable, but fatal nonetheless. You left behind a wife and two children. It was a painless death. The EMTs tried their best to save you, but to no avail. Your body was so utterly shattered you were better off, trust me. And that’s when you met me." A short story about the universe.

This is his BEST book. I've listened to it 3 times in a row. As an amateur astronomer and physics teacher I completely sucked in. Ray Porter did an outstanding job and the sound effects were perfect!

Best narration I have ever listened to
Revisado: 10-25-20
I had a 10-hr drive to make and it went by SO fast that it seemed like 15-min. This story just keeps surprising you. I found myself just sitting in the car waiting for a conclusion to one of the episodes. I HIGHLY recommend this book. It is a bit of science fiction but it is mostly a morality story.

I found myself looking for excuses to drive just so I could listen to another chapter of this book 📚. I would find a quiet place indoors or outside to escape for another chapter. Beware, you'd better have plenty of listening time because this one will be a marathon.

I would not have believed that a book so ladened with technical information could be so enjoyable. Will Wheaton's acting skills allowed him to give a great performance. This character had quite the sense of humor. Nail-biting and funny all in one.

Couldn't put this book down
Revisado: 03-15-20
OMG This is the BEST book I have listened to since I have been a member of Audible! Damien Lewis is an author extraordinaire!
I was very reticent to buy another 'animal hero' book since most of them read like a shipping-news folder. Damien used his extensive research about this dog's history and wove a web of intimate intrigue about her exploits. At times it reads like a non-fiction novel where Damien fused the stories together seamlessly. This is a story about all of Judy's companions and their experiences and losses. I HIGHLY recommend this book.
