Another sexy read!!

I love all is Vanessa Vale’s books, have read them all and listened on audible as well. Ms Stewart does the different voices very well, but the narrative part is overwhelmingly monotone. Also, the pronunciation of some words are odd- Mercantile for example. Otherwise, great book.

Absolutely loved the characters in this series, all the men were dream worthy, the women strong, loved all of it! The narrator does a fabulous job with the female voices, but the male voices strongly reminded me of the red rum voice in The Shining.

Loved this story! The narrators are great, but obviously did not listen to the previous books in the series and changed the pronunciation of a name (from ‘Raylee’ to ‘Rolley’) which grated on my nerves. Also, Croft sounded like he was raised in the Midwest instead of Texas.

Not my favorite

Prior to this one, I have loved every Lexi Blake book. This one I had to get thru to get to the next story-didn’t want to miss any importance plot twists. I really hated the way Nick treated Hailey. He took her virginity, told her he loved her then rejected her, left with her cousin whom he continued a sexual relationship for YEARS. After the cousin died, he charmed her again, made promises, got her in bed, then told her she would never measure up to Des, even though he said he was protecting her, and dumped her again. Hailey, the doormat, took him back again, like nothing had ever happened. I was disgusted by the situation. She needs some self respect. The book had a lot of great action (and sex) but lost all respect for the characters.

Pretty good story

First off, I enjoyed listening to the book, mostly. One of the best things about shifter books is the sense of family within the packs, which this one really seemed to lack. There was little to no respect for the alphas. Conflict is necessary for a book, but this one was a little too much amongst the entire pack. They seemed to have no issue with the Alpha’s home being destroyed with people inside. The narrator did a good job overall, but her voice was a bit too much like Marge Simpson, which can get really annoying.

The story was great! I fell in love with Nash from the beginning. Mason was a little bit rigid in his presentation (sometimes sounded like he was just reading) but overall a fabulous job by both narrators.

Love the actors-enjoyed the first 2 books in the series and looked forward to this one. I also loved the chemistry between the two main characters. However, there were 2 major details that killed it for me and lost me as a fan. Julia’s refusal to kiss someone she had sex with-including ORAL SEX repeatedly for a month because it was too intimate was ridiculous. There is nothing more intimate than oral sex. The biggest problem I had with this book was the repeated phrase ‘keep the baby’, in reference to abortion. You decide whether or not to keep a book, a car or an appointment. If you give a baby up for adoption then you decide not to keep it. With abortion you are consciously deciding to end the baby. As an infertility patient I was deeply offended by this phrasing. It was thoughtless and infuriating. I will never read another book by this author.
