It’s such a good story.

I really enjoyed this book. The narrator is a little irritating, but tolerable. It’s a good listen!

I just couldn't.
Revisado: 05-13-22
I have loved every one of Fredrik Backman's books until this one. I tried so hard to listen to this, but just couldn't. It was just so boring, and didn't even have the benefit of the fantastic narration of some of his other books. Very disappointing

A work of great honesty

I loved this book. The author bared herself to the world in her quest for truth and salvation. And she was so good at finding humor in her struggles.

A beautiful story
Revisado: 07-15-19
At first this book seemed a little complex but once I had figured everyone out it was very compelling. I highly recommend it. I think it’s a good one to listen to on a road trip when you have a longish time of uninterrupted listening to sort out the beginning.

I loved this book. The story is beautiful and sad and full of hope at the same time. The author as narrator was so effective, and her easy switching from Italian to Sicilian and back to English was fluid and easily understood. I really recommend this memoir. It's memoir as it should be told.

Overall pretty good
Revisado: 06-22-19
I have really enjoyed the other titles in this series by Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke, until this one. And while I didn't not enjoy it, I wasn't as absorbed by it as by the others. It felt a little less complex, a little more predictable than I'd come to expect. I wouldn't say don't read it, and maybe if you hadn't read the others you'd like this one a lot. I guess maybe I'm just over them.

Great read!
Revisado: 12-02-18
I really enjoyed this book. The author gave such a good picture of the life of a Vietnam war vet who was suffering from PTSD. It was horrifying, but very well done. I also enjoyed the look at life in the Alaskan outback. It gets pretty scary in places, but in all is worth the listen. Another good one from Kristin Hannah.

Jenny Lawson realized that the most mortifying moments of our lives - the ones we'd like to pretend never happened - are in fact the ones that define us. In Let's Pretend This Never Happened, Lawson takes readers on a hilarious journey recalling her bizarre upbringing in rural Texas, her devastatingly awkward high school years, and her relationship with her long-suffering husband, Victor.

Not worth the time it takes!
Revisado: 08-17-18
This book is earnest, I'll give her that. But she tries too hard to be funny. It's so hard to listen to as she acts like she's such s daringly badmoutn funny girl. And her voice is kind of high and grating. It's kind of painful to listen to. I highly don't recommend this title.

Revisado: 08-13-18
Trevor Noah has written a captivating memoir, and his manner of narrating it is breathtaking. He speaks so many different languages and his use of them adds so much to the experience of the book. I can't imagine that reading it could possibly come close to the experience of listening to him read it. Highly recommended!

Narrator detracts from the story
Revisado: 03-28-18
I enjoyed this novel very much. However, at times the narrator sounds like a computer generated voice, giving the same inflection to all the words. This was difficult to listen to, especially because at other times she was fine.
