a lot of filler

this was a good book but the first 35 chapter were filler were nothing important happened, if they didn't exist the story wouldn't change in any appreciable way. that's not to say they were boring, if you're this far into the story you probably like the characters and will find them interesting but ultimately the first 35 chapters is just the main character walking around town talking to his friends about their day to day lives.

why change narrators?

this was great, very similar to the anime but it's definitely nice to get more of the character's internal monologues. but I was definitely a little disappointed with the change in narrator. Don't get me wrong he did a good job, very good even. but the first book was narrated by Matt Shipman the actual voice actor for hajime from the anime and it just added a sense of... authenticity? to things. hearing hajime's words and thoughts in the literally voice of hajime.

over all too soon

this was a wonderful collection of little stories that any fan of cradle will enjoy. tragically it has just made me miss cradle and all it's characters even more.

the book starts a little slow, not boring by any means just slow but it quickly builds up steam and doesn't stop till the very end. I did see the twist coming for a few books now, but it was executed well.

a real disappointment

I found this book very dull, full of boring politics. Not that politics is necessarily boring, but the politics in this book was. and there was no progression in this book, on the contrary there was significant regression.

I had to struggle to finish this, and I'm not thrilled about the direction the series is heading.

good but a little dull

this book was entertaining from start to finish but too much time was spent on unimportant matters especially in the beginning. though it does set up a really good foundation for the next book.

excellent, a real return to form.

this book was really good, fun, funny, exciting and excitedly.

I was not a big fan of the past 2 books but especially the last one, but this book was really great.

the narrator was excellent as always.

good, but ended awkwardly

at this point you know what you're in for, it's more of what you've come to expect. it's a good book but the series is starting to suffer from too many different story threads progressing simultaneously. one thing I'll say is the book ended very suddenly. not in a cliff hanger kind of way or not just, it almost felt like the last couple paragraphs weren't sent to the narrator by mistake.

enjoyable but mostly filler

about 10-12 hours of this books 16 hour runtime is esentially filler with Matt experimenting with rifts. it was enjoyable and interesting enough, but I think the vast majority of people will skip this book on any retreads of the series.
