Historia
If it weren’t for Emma Johnson, Caryn Johnson would have never become Whoopi Goldberg. Emma gave her children the loving care and wisdom they needed to succeed in life, always encouraging them to be true to themselves. When Whoopi lost her mother in 2010—and then her older brother, Clyde, five years later—she felt deeply alone; the only people who truly knew her were gone. Emma raised her children not just to survive, but to thrive. In this intimate and heartfelt memoir, Whoopi shares many of the deeply personal stories of their lives together for the first time.

Incredibly well done. The gift I’m having Je
nifer Louis read the book herself was a wonderful. Worth the cost of the book. Her narration wasn’t an award winning performance itself. Incredibly vulnerable, authentic and honest this book reminds us all of our common humanity. Well done Jenifer. Another success!

Historia
There may be no tidy solutions or pithy answers to life’s big challenges, but Michelle Obama believes that we can all locate and lean on a set of tools to help us better navigate change and remain steady within flux. In The Light We Carry, she opens a frank and honest dialogue with listeners, considering the questions many of us wrestle with: How do we build enduring and honest relationships? How can we discover strength and community inside our differences? What tools do we use to address feelings of self-doubt or helplessness? What do we do when it all starts to feel like too much?

Outstanding first memoir!
Revisado: 05-06-22
What an absolute treat to have Randy read this and infuse it with such a sense of heart and authenticity. It was difficult to put this audible book down. The narrative is fast moving, engaging and extremely entertaining. This is exactly what we need in these difficult times. I was heartbroken as he was reading the story about his cat and surprised at such a emotional and visceral response it evoked in me Having also lost loved and cherished pets and family members. Very well done Randy. You “knocked it out of the park”. You can Google that to see what it means. It’s a sports reference. :-) Highly recommend. Trying to find a way to give it 10 stars.

Gadsby grew up as the youngest of five children in Tasmania, where homosexuality was illegal until 1997. After moving to mainland Australia and receiving a degree in art history, they found themselves adrift, working itinerant jobs and enduring years of isolation punctuated by homophobic and sexual violence. When Gadsby was twenty-seven, a friend encouraged them to enter a stand-up competition. They won, and so began their career in comedy.

It’s easy to be yourself when who and what you are is in vogue. But growing up Black and gay in America has never been easy. Before Billy Porter was slaying red carpets and giving an iconic performance in the celebrated TV show Pose; before he was the Tony Award-winning star of Broadway’s Kinky Boots; and before he was an acclaimed recording artist, actor, playwright, and all-around diva, Porter was a young boy who didn’t fit in.

Revisado: 12-20-21
I full heartedly recommend listening to this book as narrated by Billy Porter. Yes he so genuinely does, Billy brings his full voice and emotion to this autobiography and even sings which is such a gift and welcome surprise when listening to the book. The best book I have listened to all year. I’ve truly enjoyed this and been inspired. Billy sprinkles his life lessons and teachings throughout the book. I found this sharing most moving…”Your service is leaning into your truth. Your authenticity. That thing you’ve been told needs to be fixed. That thing everyone told you will be your liability. You are enough, just as you are. “. Absolutely outstanding book. Highly recommend. Two thumbs up, five stars. We need an award to be presented for the narration of books. Billy would win this award, hands-down.

Historia
"How did you get this number?" Those were the first words Jill Biden spoke to US senator Joe Biden when he called her out of the blue to ask her on a date. Growing up, Jill had wanted two things: a marriage like her parents' - strong, loving, and full of laughter - and a career. An early heartbreak had left her uncertain about love until she met Joe. But as they grew closer, Jill faced difficult questions: How would politics shape her family and professional life? And was she ready to become a mother to Joe's two young sons?

Katie: #WellDone Loved this book!!!
Revisado: 11-07-21
Just finished listening!!!! I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! Ive recommended it to countless friends. It is fast moving… kept my attention every bit of the way. Her experience as a journalist, being female in that industry, her time at TODAY SHOW…. Her Matt Lauer thoughts… the difficulty at CBS EVENING NEWS….. death of her beloved husband to colon cancer…. Single mom…… aging…. I could NOT put it down…. She is very open and authentic. I teared up several times while listening! Tough for a book to do that, but she is so genuine and freely shared her heart….. the book moved me and touched my heart. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I listened to it which was a joy because she READ the audio version. What a joy to integrate media from news coverage. So creative!! Its so good I bought a hardcover copy for my mom who cant wait to read it!!! Simply said, outstanding!!!
