Enjoyable for YA

I imagine this as a good read or listen for YA readers or enthusiasts. I felt was a bit slow and the narration overwrought at times so I personally did a lot of stop/starts to get through it all. Enjoyed the characters and overall story.

I did enjoy the story which I had not read growing up or anything. I enjoyed the narrator except almost all his pirate characters sounded the same and very cliche 'piratey'.

Not a fan of the reader

While I really like reading this book I am not a fan of the reader. I feel like I am stuck listening to the a nerdy, know-it-all dungeon master telling me about how awesome his story is. I'll avoid Nick Podehl in the future.
