Loved this one!
Revisado: 01-26-24
I don't give out 5 stars often. I was fascinated by the historical setting and unfamiliar mythology. I loved the characters and watching them grow. There is a scene where the main character has a conversation with another character about the nature of angels and faith that I found particularly touching.

A children's classic for a reason
Revisado: 10-26-22
Charming. A fun in-the-car listen with the kids. Something everyone could enjoy. Lobel did a great job narrating. Not all authors do.

A Classic for a Reason
Revisado: 12-19-21
A Christmas Carol is a classic for a reason, and Tim Curry's narration does it justice. Brilliantly done.
My only issue is a quirky one. Tim Curry also narrated much of the Old Kingdom series by Garth Nix. I'm so accustomed Tim in that role that at certain times I half expected Sabriel to appear and send our Christmas ghosts back into death. 😆 Similarly, I have a hard time not hearing Harry Potter in anything else Jim Dale narrates.

Perfection!
Revisado: 07-21-21
On my all time favorites list now. Love everything about it. Just finished my second listen in less than four months. The story is so beautifully woven together. The prose is vivid and lyrical without being difficult to understand. The narrator's interpretation of the characters' voices is spot on. I can't recommend this one enough.

Really amazing.
Revisado: 06-09-21
Awesome narration. It really captured the conversational tone of the writing. Such dense, thought provoking information delivered as if the author is speaking to a budding author loved one. I'll refer back to this one often. I need to take a highlighter to my paper copy.

From childhood, Adri and Simon have always been there for each other through every loss, triumph, joy, and heartbreak. They're perfect for each other - but there's an unfortunate catch. They've only ever met in their dreams, which means each of them thinks the other one is just a figment of their imagination. But what if they weren't? All it takes is one little video clip to change their lives forever.

A fun, feel-good story! Worth a binge-listen.
Revisado: 12-19-20
I downloaded this one about 10 am and listened to it every opportunity I had. I would have listened to it straight through if I had been able because I was enjoying it so much. As it was, I listened until 2:30 am, and then I started it up again almost immediately after I was awake in the morning.
This is a hopeless romantic's kind of book. There are parts of the story that made me literally laugh out loud and parts of the story that made me cry. The plot inspires the best kind of willing suspension of disbelief. There are plot twists and near misses worthy of the best Meg Ryan movies. The characters are quirky and likeable, the type of people you'd like to have as friends. It was delightful to disconnect from the world and dream along with Adri and Simon for awhile.
Liz Christensen and Todd Wente do a great job narrating the audio book. Their voices match the main characters well at every age, and the secondary characters are also distinct and well executed.
