Great look at behind the scenes of 80s 90s cartoons, Dungeons and Dragons and life as a writer in Hollywood.
Revisado: 08-31-24
Big fan of Dungeons and Dragons and I grew up in the 80s. I loved to hear about what went on behind the scenes of some of my favorite cartoons, movies, toy properties and games. Author does a great job of sharing the details of their experience. I love all the little personal stories. When he gets hired and fired in back to back phone calls on his answering machine was classic. Cool book and free with audible premium.

Historia
Keep on the Borderlands was one of the very first D&D adventures, so seasoned gamers remember this product from their early days, and newer gamers will recognize it from the 25th anniversary rerelease. Greyhawk novels are based on the classic D&D modules from this world and provide listeners with the same kind of feeling that they get playing classic D&D modules.

Just like the adventure module
Revisado: 10-19-23
As a consumer and D&D player what I wanted from this book was to experience the Keep on the Borderlands in novel form. Through the vehicle of several characters from the book I experienced multiple memorable moments from the module. The battle with the Ogre from cave G. Exploration and battles from Cave K. Orc and Goblin battles from cave B and C. Kobold adventures from Cave A. And hints about the evil minotaur in the maze cave. Loved the book. Very well done.

Great story but the pacing is S-L-O-W!
Revisado: 03-14-23
As you listen, the hours will roll by and the story will unfold. The author really needs to work on pacing. If you have patience, there is a good story to be discovered but I'm afraid must will move on to something else. If you like post-apocalyptic stories, this one is pretty good. I like the concept of "God weapons" as people discover the world that once was. About 10 hours in there is a cool battle.
I will give the author five stars for the incredibly creative chapter headings! :-0

Historia
Imagine a 1980s world of sumptuous hotel rooms, restaurants, New York City penthouses, and the powerful men who move easily between these pinnacles of luxury. They are music producers, rock stars, writers, and restaurateurs. They are household names like Billy Joel, Art Garfunkel, Eric Clapton, and Sting. And yet, each man has an entire aspect to his life that he doesn’t talk about publicly—his depression, his rocky marriage, his feelings of shame and failure, his private loss of faith. And now: The phone rings. Imagine the woman who has each of these men at her beck and call.

R rated language. But beyond that an intriguing storyline about people, relationships, lies and sexual tension. Too bad they had to ruin it with so many horrible expletives.

His works aren’t just entertainment - they’re cautionary tales and red flags of warning. And if we ever hope to understand threats to freedom and how to stop them, we must learn from them. In these 24 lectures, learn how the man born as Eric Blair forged himself into a writer of international importance and renown.

I was mainly interested in George Orwell because of 1984. Too bad his health was such a challenge. He probably could have written a lot more. Great biography on an interesting author of the 20th century.

Revisado: 06-07-22
The book takes a practical look at tools to avoid being sucked into the bias message wars pervading our society. I commend the author for presenting Some common sense tools for avoiding misinformation in an UNBIASED approach. That is very rare these days.

If you want to know the background details for Darth Sidious and Darth Plagues this is the book for you. The narrator is awesome taking on the voices of all kinds of characters. Great sound effects and great story. It really helped me to understand the rise of emperor palpatine just before the events of Star Wars episode one. A classic all fans should listen to. Highly recommended.

In 2015, a major story broke exposing Hillary Clinton's role in approving the sale of an American uranium company to the Russian state nuclear agency Rosatom. An indispensable guide to the hidden background of recent events, Fallout shows how Putin's bid for nuclear dominance produced a series of political scandals that ultimately posed one of the greatest threats to our democracy in modern American history.

The TRUE Russia collusion story backed up with hundreds of facts
Revisado: 09-11-20
I am appalled at the state of journalism today. When I studied journalism two decades ago and worked for a medium-sized newspaper, it was all about ethics. Writing a story based on a single unnamed source would have never gotten past my editors. I would have been laughed right out of my job. Now it is common place at some of the biggest news outlets in the nation to fuel an agenda of disinformation. At last a true reporter in John Solomon breaks the lid off of the truth behind the Russia collusion story. The physical copy of this book has hundreds and hundreds of footnotes and references. This is how I learned journalism. Writing that gets to the truth no matter what. I get it. Obama tried to reset our relationship with Russia and it turned out to be naive and foolish. Putin is a leader that poisons his own Russian political rivals. He will seek any opportunity to weaken the United States. When will our politicians get this through their egotistical heads?Fascinating story. Highly recommended.
