Masterful Storytelling

My 12-year old daughter said that her heart started pounding in the first chapter of "Dragonwatch" and continued through the last chapter since this book contained so many unexpected twists and turns, and I have to agree! It was an incredibly exciting and well-told story with an intensely climactic and suspenseful conclusion. The narrator did a fabulous job helping each character come to life. Brandon Mull is a truly masterful storyteller, and this book surpassed my expectations (which is surprising since we're huge fans of the Fablehaven series!). Very well done!!

Remarkable historical fiction

This intriguing book introduced me to a disturbing period of European history that I was previously unfamiliar with (even though I have a history minor and MA in Humanities!) Berry weaves a compelling tale with endearing characters into a well-researched backdrop of medieval French history. Dolssa's story generates universal questions and issues that are still relevant today. Berry is a masterful storyteller-- I enjoyed this book even better the second time through!

I learned about the book from the movie, I am Number 4. I listened to the first book and now just finished the second and it is totally awesome. I love the story line. I would totally recommend it to anyone. It is really fun.
