Very educational
Revisado: 09-25-24
I've listened to every one of the killing series and this one didn't disappoint. What did disappoint was Martin Dugard's remarks at the end, I wish I'd never heard that. It's surprising to me that O'Rielly would team up with such a leftist, he must be a hell of a researcher.

I guess my time with Doc Ford has passed.
Revisado: 06-17-24
Even though one of the main characters in this series made no appearance in this story his voice did. It's clear that the Narrator has run out of voices so they are now becoming utilitarian, use them anywhere for anyone. Disappointing.

Historia
A legendary charter captain and guide named Tootsie Barlow has come to Doc Ford, muttering about a curse. The members of his extended family have suffered a bizarre series of attacks, and Barlow is convinced it has something to do with a multiple murder in 1925, in which his family had a shameful part. Ford doesn't believe in curses, but as he and his friend Tomlinson begin to investigate, following the trail of the attacks from Key Largo to Tallahassee, they, too, suffer a series of near-fatal mishaps.

Will he run in 2024? You bet he will. Will he be the GOP nominee? Absolutely. Will he win the election? Yes.The stakes of the next elections could not be higher. The Democrats won the election of 2020—sort of—and the disastrous consequences are already upon us. As he did in his 2016 New York Times best seller, Armageddon: How Trump Can Beat Hillary, renowned campaign strategist Dick Morris provides the road map for taking back the White House and the nation in this new book, The Return.

Dick Morris has been around. He was Clinton's advisor at one time so he knows the game. There was a lot of good information in this book but he should have had someone else read it.

Historia
1992. All across the United States respectable, upstanding citizens are showing up dead. These deaths could be accidents, and they don’t appear to be connected—until a fatal fall from a high-floor window attracts some unexpected attention. That attention comes from the secretary of defense. All of a sudden he wants an interagency task force to investigate. And he wants Jack Reacher as the army’s representative. If Reacher gets a result, great. If not, he’s a convenient fall guy.

Revisado: 12-29-23
I've listened to every Reacher book recorded to this point but this one wasn't worthy of being in that group. Every word from every character can't be the most urgent ever spoken, what happened to Scott Brick? The story was weak, the performance weak, and overall it was a chore to finish.

Al Rosen was doing just fine, hiding out in Israel - until he decided to play Good Samaritan and rescue some elderly tourists from a hotel fire. Now his picture's been carried in the stateside press, and the guys he's been hiding from know exactly where he is. And they're coming to get him - crooked lawyers, men with guns and money, and assorted members of the Detroit mob who are harboring a serious grudge. Playtime in paradise is officially over; Rosen's a million miles from home with a bull's eye on his back.

Historia
Elvis Cole is just a detective who can't say no, especially to a girl in a terrible fix. And Jennifer Sheridan qualifies: Her fiancé, Mark Thurman, is a decorated LA cop with an elite plainclothes unit, but Jennifer's sure he's in trouble - the kind of serious trouble that only Elvis Cole can help him out of. Five minutes after his new client leaves his office, Elvis and his partner, the enigmatic Joe Pike, are hip-deep in a deadly situation as they plummet into a world of South Central gangs, corrupt cops, and conspiracies of silence.

Not his best.
Revisado: 06-20-23
For openers, "Mark Thurman"? Too much like Mark Furman of OJ fame not to be distracting. The story itself probably isn't bad but the narration is terrible. I like the characters, Cole and Pike so I'll be looking at more but no more narrated by Mr. Foster for me.

Historia
Mississippi sheriff Quinn Colson had to admit he admired the bank robbers. A new bank was hit almost every week, and the robbers rushed in and out with such skill and precision it reminded him of raids he'd led back in Afghanistan and Iraq when he was an Army Ranger. In fact it reminded him so much of the techniques in the Ranger Handbook that he couldn't help wondering if the outlaws were former Rangers themselves. And that was definitely going to be a problem.

In Gerrardsville, Colorado, a woman dies under the wheels of a moving bus. The death is ruled a suicide. But Jack Reacher saw what really happened: A man in a gray hoodie and jeans, moving stealthily, pushed the victim to her demise—before swiftly grabbing the dead woman’s purse and strolling away.

The worst ever.
Revisado: 11-19-22
I've listened to every Reacher book that's ever been on Audible and this one is far and away the worst. It's sort of like a 11 hour Q&A dialogue with short periods of violence thrown in every so often. Even the narration, and I've thought Scott Brick was ok in the past, was bad. There must be a thousand unnecessary"breathless" moments in it. You go for about 40 chapters, plus or minus, before the story begins to make even a little sense but it never seems to get much better. It's evil element is a privately operated prison, reflecting what is probably the authors left leaning politics. Whether it is or not whoever did the prison consultation for this book wasn't any good either. After spending 30 years in corrections, about half of it with a private operator, I can tell you that the scenarios described in this book aren't even close to reality. Too bad, I guess Reacher has left the building.
