Historia
Humpback whales are among the most intelligent animals on Earth. Some scientists believe they might even surpass humans in self-awareness, empathy, and communication skills. In this episode, we swim with a whale as he teams up with other humpbacks to use bubbles to catch fish, rescues a sea lion, and puts his own spin on melodies sung by whales across the Pacific Ocean. This is the world in its natural state, defined by seasons, routines, and cycles. By the time this whale is ready to close one eye and go to sleep, you will be too.

Delightfully Engaging
Revisado: 03-27-25
The calming sounds of water, whale song, and the narrator’s voice made for a beautiful journey and informative experience. I played it a second time right after the gentle bubbling water faded gradually into silence. I look forward to listening again at bedtime.
Thank you for this wonderful discovery!

Historia
With ribald humor, wit, and incredible insight, Alan seamlessly moves back and forth in time, integrating stories from his childhood in Scotland and his experiences today as the celebrated actor of film, television, and stage. At times suspenseful, at times deeply moving, but always incredibly brave and honest, Not My Father's Son is a powerful story of embracing the best aspects of the past and triumphantly pushing the darkness aside.

Very, very well done.
Revisado: 05-12-16
Alan tells his story with real honesty, vulnerability and courage. His willingness to share the painful details of his childhood and the journey of discovery and self-knowledge as he works through his recovery is inspiring.
He brilliantly weaves in the mysterious story of his grandfather, while at the same time he works at untangling a story his father has dropped on him.
It is an intimate look into the actor's life, his experiences and his thoughts.
I appreciate Alan's openness. I feel like I've made a very good friend.
