Fantastic, although does not go super deep but hits all the points for the novice. America really was at her best and absolutely unstoppable in the years following the war. Incredible how bad the rot has become, i don’t know to either laugh or cry with Biden likening himself to FDR. Truman, also, great statesman.

October 2024. Funny thing, Churchill was correct in his assessment then, and 80 or so years later still correct. The Allies should’ve kept marching east from Berlin. Everybody was there already. Would have saved us all a lot of treasure and death.

just might be one of the best books i have ever read/listened to in my time here on earth. Just finished my third listen. very in depth and never once was i bored. you will not be disappointed

I downloaded this after reading the WSJ review with high expectations. But I found the writer struggled to write a female lead (despite his earlier work). It might have been less obvious on the page, but the narrator made it so much worse by over emoting all of her feelings and expressions in comparison to the male characters, so she sounds like a stereotype of over-emotional females without the depth needed for a main character. The male cops weren't much better, very stereotypical tunnel vision police officers, but as side characters its less bothersome to the storyline. I returned after a few hours of listening.
