Historia
For those looking for the real story behind the fictionalized movie account of the 47 Ronin story, this is the definitive, fascinating account of this unforgettable tale of a band of samurai who defied the Emperor to avenge the disgrace and death of their master, and faced certain death as a result. It led to one of the bloodiest episodes in Japanese history, and in the process, created a new set of heroes in Japan.

Great story, as expected. The foreword is surprisingly long (or maybe just feels long), and made me doubt initially if this would be any good, but as soon as it was finished we were in business.

Historia
Monsters and beasts roamed the earth and were slain by soldiers and adventurers who were, in turn, killed by stronger threats. Heroes and villains created new epics and were forgotten when their successors appeared. This was the way of the Infinite World. Summoned into this chaotic place, a young boy with no name and no past must learn to survive. Bound to a master who doesn't care whether he lives or dies, he must become stronger. The question is: how?

Historia
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.

Slow, but the end is wild
Revisado: 05-27-23
The whole thing was a little slow, kind of piquing my interest (enough to listen) but it was a lot of dancing around. Then end though. Definitely had some stuff that was unexpected. Overall it was interesting, but meh. Worth a read, but I wouldn’t rave about it.

Historia
The wall just didn’t look right. Alex has been trying to cope. Life after his deployment had been rough. His ex-wife thought he needed to stop disappointing their daughter. She was right. He would try harder. With six hours before his little girl’s fourth birthday party, he saw the anomaly. One wall was too short. Plenty of time to tear out a panel and look behind it. He found a brick wall. His house wasn’t made of brick. Behind that was another just like the first. He still had time. When the second wall came down, Alex stood and stared at the shining doorway.

Encapsulating story
Revisado: 05-02-23
The story started off a little slow for me - something that happens with almost all books I listen to and like. Not the deepest characters, but definitely ended up capturing me and really sucked me into the story. Thoroughly enjoyed. Will be continuing through the series. Worth the credits.

Historia
More than two centuries after World War III poisoned the planet, the final bastion of humanity lives on massive airships circling the globe in search of a habitable area to call home. Aging and outdated, most of the ships plummeted back to Earth long ago. The only thing keeping the two surviving lifeboats in the sky are Hell Divers - men and women who risk their lives by skydiving to the surface to scavenge for parts the ships desperately need.

Not a fav, but a good one nonetheless
Revisado: 04-28-23
All in all I would say it was an interesting story, but kind of hard to imagine some of the major which pulled me out of the story a bit sometimes, and for most of the story I just didn’t care about the main character - although that changed toward the end. The monsters on the other hand were very easy to imagine, seemed a little stereotypical but I didn’t hate it. The end was exciting, but most of the story leading up wasn’t my fav. Worth the listen, but won’t top the charts.

Awesome story. Lots of layers - a little predictable at times, but not annoyingly obvious like a lot can be. Will be recommending to everyone I talk to!

A solid, intriguing story. I truly appreciate how the main character isn’t a complete dunce like in so many stories. The story feels like it’s something that actually happened. This is my first John Rain story, will definitely be following up with more.

Historia
For the first time as an Orbit special edition, Brent Weeks's blockbuster novella Perfect Shadow tells the origin story of the Night Angel trilogy's most enigmatic character: Durzo Blint. Gaelan Starfire is a farmer, happy to be a husband and a father; a careful, quiet, simple man. He's also an immortal, peerless in the arts of war. Over the centuries, he's worn many faces to hide his gift, but he is a man ill-fit for obscurity, and all too often he's become a hero, his very names passing into legend.

Very difficult to follow
Revisado: 03-28-23
Labeled as book 0 in the series, so I’m coming in with no background. Had a very hard time following what is going on - just very abrupt shifts that are lost even if you are giving it full attention. Interesting story, but hard to get through.

Great finale but who tf is in charge of the cover art?
Revisado: 03-26-23
A solid wrap up of the saga. It has a little bit of everything. I don’t think I’ll ever get I’ve the fact that the main character is described to be blonde (am I right, or am I crazy?) and the image on the cover is very clearly brunette.. like, why??

Not bad but not great..
Revisado: 03-25-23
The story starts a little slow and depressing.. get pretty good. But the freaking main character is such a fool. It makes me anxious sometimes. It feels like a cheap way to push the storyline, but I feel like a more thoughtful approach would really make these books awesome! Also, not a fan of the performer’s lady voice. And do they have an accent? Can’t tell. That part is a little weird to me but not bad for the story. I listened to the second one too, same thoughts. No going to do any more though. Would rather spend my credits elsewhere.
