FANTASTIC!!

This was sooo good! What a compelling and fun ride! Wonderful story and narration, as well as good character development and exciting locations (particularly, Robin's Nest in Hawaii - what's not to love?? and the Great Lakes - i grew up on Lake Michigan). This is the third book I've read by this author, and he does not disappoint. I just decided to follow him on Audible and look forward to more of his writing and imagination. I am hoping for more Adrienne Astra and Rachel Roberts! Well done!

Could this book be any more BORING?

I have 90 minutes to go, and getting through each word thus far has been like pulling teeth. This story feels disorganized, uninteresting and stereotypical. There is simply nothing compelling about this book for me - not the plot, not the characters. I generally like Tom Clancy, but this book (maybe bc it's not written by Clancy) is a dog. I can't recommend it, and I don't know if I can finish it. BTW, even if something stellar happens in the final pages, that will not save the book for me. At this point, I simply don't care about the characters or the plot resolution. Boring!

Weak Female Characters

Somewhat amusing story, but male characters (all of them) SO MUCH more appealing than either of the two female characters. Since when is a weak, whiny and self-absorbed woman so interesting? Or a rather mean and psychotic woman so worthy of friendship? Just very weird. So hard to like.

Ridiculously Annoying Female Lead

This female lead is an annoying, whining, immature liar. She is incredibly entitled and just such a loser. Her heart is kind of in the right place...maybe. But she is so selfish and stupid, it's almost impossible to listen to her wholly inapt rationalizations. She is a blamer when her own incredible ineptitude is why she is exactly where she is ... nowhere. I think this is supposed to be cute, maybe she is supposed to be cute and represent some kind of Bohemia with her 'freestyle' personality, but this just doesn't work. I would run from her within 5 minutes of meeting her. Why would ANY self-respecting successful man want her for more than a 5 minute fling - unless he has real issues of his own? Ugh. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.

Romcom with depth, insight & compelling characters

LOVED this book - so clever! Extremely well written. Interesting and insightful. Characters were well defined and compelling - and very relatable and likable. Enjoyed this title immensely and am hoping for more from this author!

Really enjoyed this book - such compelling characters and a story line that matters. Articulate, almost terse, writing that so easily conveyed the richness of scenes and characters. Nothing extraneous. Loved it - and unlike others, I really enjoyed the narration too. Highly recommend this highly entertaining audiobook.

Fun Escapism!

Perfect short fix - intrigue on a beautiful island for easy escapism! The book is comprised of short vignettes with generally quick resolutions. There are a couple of lengthier storylines. it's well written, fast moving and there is sufficient tension to keep the listener engaged. The performances are fantastic. I've always loved Mary Louise Parker, and her voice is fabulous here: Sexy, irreverent and witty - like I perceive her to be. I also love books set in beautiful places; Bermuda is one of those ideal settings. That being said, I wish a little more of the natural beauty of the setting was woven into the storyline. Great beach listen or great listen in the middle of winter when all you want are island dreams!

Poignant story and great narration!

This is a whimsical, poignant tale about grief and loss and the mysterious beauty that is life. I loved, as always, Julia, Whelan’s narration. She made the already vivid characters bloom.
