An eulogy to truth and intellectual honesty

I've heard it twice, and the second time I was just as enthralled as the first. Ariel Sabar is but one shining example of why I consider the trendy claims of "distrust of journalists" to be empty, whiny, and baseless.
I wish I always were as pleased with my audio book choices. What a breathtaking roller coaster!

I'm so sorry, Professor Salisbury!

The content is absolutely wonderful, but I'm having a hard time staying engaged due to the narration. There are frequent pauses in odd places, resulting in chopped-up sentences. Sometimes Professor Salisbury's pitch drops too much, particularly with words at the ends of phrases, making it difficult to hear said words. Given that I can't return this title, I'll continue listening. I'm confident my enjoyment will surpass my irritation.

The characters' Italian accents grated on me

What disappointed you about Oil and Marble?
The characters' thick (and fake) Italian accents were too much of a distraction, and I gave up after a couple of chapters.
Any additional comments?
I find no fault with the narrator's skills. If only the choice had been made to use his normal voice to portray the characters I'm sure I would've gotten through the book. I look forward to reading it.
