Inept and Non-believable main character

Hoped book 2 would be better, but it was worse. Lottie is not a believable character at all and the ineptitude of her and her colleagues in general made this an extremely frustrating listen. Really wanted to like her and the series . Pity. Narrator was great.

Good story with interesting plot lines and characters. The brewing family drama somehow isn't hitting the mark. It doesn't come across as authentic. Itcauses a bit of disconnect between the competent police woman who is taken seriously at work vs the angst ridden drama at home where she comes across as non-caring and out of control. I'm all for complicated, rounded characters...but she is just "not believable" so far. Hopefully gets better in follow up books.

Read some less-than-great reviews but found the story original and fun to listen to! This book does not pretend to be the next litaratury masterpiece and was an easy listen with humorous moments as well as a few interesting twists to keep you entertained.

Loved it and couldn't wait to finish it! Immersive with great characters ...surprisingly deep character development and fast paced storyline that doesn't disappoint!.Definitely worth a few hours of your time specifically because the story is very relatable in our current times.
