Historia
He was the sexiest guy she'd ever met. And that was about all Jess Baxter knew about her newest tenant. Rob Carpenter was a master at dodging questions...and igniting her desires. With just one of his searing kisses, Jess was hotter than the Florida sun. Then the murders started - all women who looked like her. And the profile of the killer matched Rob... Was he an innocent victim - or had his burning kisses only been a smoke screen? One thing was certain: Rob Carpenter was no ordinary man.

Audible has poor up AI for matching listener tiles
Revisado: 10-22-24
I like clean suspense romances. This twisted work has a serial killer boarding with a single mother and her child and courting her. It is totally sick. I not only don't want to finish it I want to return it for the credit I used. It shows poor AI on the part of Audible to recommend the title to me.

Historia
It is 1893, and the first generation of immigrants who came to America for the promise of free land and a good life for their children have finally achieved their dreams. They labored hard on the land and now have a bountiful heritage to pass on to the next generation. However, many of the young people aren't interested in becoming farmers - they have aspirations of their own. Thorliff Bjorklund has been writing stories and plays since he was a young boy and longs to attend college to study journalism. But his father has other plans for him and refuses to agree.

Great addition to the Red River Stories
Revisado: 07-27-24
While I liked learning Thorliff and Elizabeth's story - the narration of the children was awful, like fingernails on chalkboard . . . and the southern accents were way too twangy, cringeworthy like the children . . . unlike any other audiobooks in the series. Further, the voice acting was not well done but amateurish. Out of step with the Blessing Series.

Rich Story difficult theme
Revisado: 07-27-24
Michael Phillips covers a tense transition time in history when human relationships needed to be handled with care. Only the guiding of the Spirit could help navigate and heal the pain, differences and difficulties. Full of angst but beautifully handeled and written.
Shame on Audible for not including the remaining books in the series.

Not acceptable - women subjected
Revisado: 12-17-22
BDSM is an expression of sexuality. However, the hallmark of this lifestyle is choice, that is mutually agreed informed consent. I thought as a society we had moved past subjection of women.
The first of these books involves a young woman who was battered by a father and observed fully exposed (without consent) by her brother and his friends. There are hints of incestuous pleasure by brother and father. She is married by her father’s arrangement to one of her brother’s friends who observed her beating at a young age (14 or 15 years old.) It isn’t BDSM as accepted today but a rather disgusting twist - too nasty to complete this work.

Great Stories - For more fun, try this
Revisado: 03-07-21
I have been enjoying the series. Today I looked up online each car mentioned and they were fabulous works of art and really set the mood for the period. I have also spot-checked vintage clothing items that we do not wear or use today and thought it was delightful to imagine the characters wearing them. The 1920's were an important period of change in Western societies - the Great War, global economic challenges and the 1918 Pandemic all forced people to rethink long-held values. There was generally a zest to grab life for all it is worth in light of so many who died between the Spanish Flu and WWI.

Heartwarming Series of Redemption Stories
Revisado: 10-05-19
This series has heartwarming stories of the lives of people who have brokenness in their past and find redemption and love again - all set in a charming town. However as a native Georgian, its research is a bit cringe-worthy.
- Georgia (Atlanta by Dr. Pemberton) is the Home of Coca-Cola, not Pepsi. Many families in the state became wealthy by holding original shares of stock. Pepsi was formulated in North Carolina - each state is true to their bottled pop!!!
- The mountains in Georgia are 6-8 hours from Savannah. Southern and Coastal Georgia are flatlands . . . no mountains anywhere.
- You will not find Lilacs south of the Mason Dixon line - the hot humid summers kill them.
- The bayous are native to Louisiana . . . . and Stetson hats are native to Texas

My name is Rae, and this is my story. Regretfully, it begins on a sad note. Everything was taken from me when my husband died in a tragic car accident. Revisado: 04-25-19
Beautiful reworking of the familiar story of Ruth retold for a modern world. Engaging from the start and fresh cultural twist. I especially liked the emphasis on family in this rendition which was believable to me. I pray you find joy in the reading or listening.

New Twist on a Bronte!

This is intriguing for those who like classic literature and would enjoy engaging in new ideas on preconceived notions. This will pull you into a good mystery thriller. Warning: some dark scenes unfold but it remains light enough for the faint of heart to maintain their interest. Enjoy!

Complex Story Lines:Well-written,compelling story
Revisado: 02-13-19
This book has real depth and complexities but it is well-written. You cannot read/listen to this as background noise - it requires both ears. However stick with the story to discover the treasures within and you will be rewarded. While you may have to grab a tissue now and again this author will reward you with surprising twists and turns. Enjoy!
