Seth Rogen just seems like the kind of person you’d always have fun with. I only wish the book were longer! Funniest book I’ve heard in a long time.

I am so glad Robyn wrote her book. It illuminates a whole other side of Whitney, one not filtered by the Houston family. Regardless of Robyn’s orientation, this is an unfiltered look into the life of a once young and vibrant, immensely talented lady who lived an incredible life where very few people seemed to actually love and appreciate her for herself. You have to ask yourself why Whitney’s family disliked a woman who put their daughters happiness and safety above all others. Why were her family so uncomfortable with this woman? It seems that everyone else I her life, music producers, talent managers, etc. relied heavenly on Robyn, and Whitney’s own assistant always called her
First. That picture doesn’t add up. Robyn truly loved her, and protected her. This book reflects that.

Not just as a fan, but as someone interested in what went down and Scientology overall, this book delivers.
Leah’s voice and timing are perfect.
But mostly, she handles this subject so openly and objectively that it is not the bashing Scientology would have us believe. (The bits on Tom Cruz are alone worth it!). She is very fair, and leads the reader on a journey from start to explosive finish. This is one of very few books I only stopped listening to so I could sleep.
It actually left me with a stronger sense of my own faith (not cultism Scientology), as well as proud to live in a country where we can openly challenge organized religion and dogma.
I’m now an even bigger fan. She is very brave and altruistic in my opinion.

I was hoping for an objective view of Charles & his life. There is little here that can’t be picked up from a Wikipedia biography.
One would assume that Ms Smith is in, or would want to be in good graces of the Prince & Duchess. I wouldn’t expect a biography of Charles to be thoughtful of the late Princess of Wales, but I did expect less of the “Diana the manipulative, shy, stupid, and misogynistic bed-hopper”. But no luck there. Ms Smith continues the revisionist narrative that has been launched by The Palace; hardly even taking an original POV in that direction.
It is amazing to the reader that the Prince of Wales has such far reaching influence. Camilla is seen as the sympathetic and dutiful mistress while Diana is the unbalanced upstager to the poor Prince of Wales who can’t seem to catch a break. This book doesn’t even dare answer the conundrum that if Diana was so much more beloved by “The People”, is the PoW really her wounded victim, or is he simply jealous of the Diana Myth. Even sorting that out would have been worth the time.
Diana was cunning, where Camilla was unlucky, Diana was restless where Camilla was easy-going, Diana was not nice enough to Charles while grieving her father, yet Camilla put on a brave face when her father passed as Charles consoled her. Even after Diana’s death in the book, Ms Smith cannot resist contrasting in the most partial way Camilla’s “true love” with Diana’s “manipulation & outbursts.” Never taking into account that the late Princess, may have, could have, just might have matured as she aged as C&C did. It’s a little too unforgiving.
Perhaps death was not a high enough price for the Princess to pay.
So if you are looking for a balanced view of Charles, his life and loves, keep looking.

I bought this as a Hillary supporter, and someone troubled by 2016. But, for the open minded, I feel this is an in-depth look at a campaign, a pivotal time in history, one persons journey, and most of all, an informative look at the real issues and cautions of all that was either not said, or buried behind sensational headlines.
I wanted to know what her perspectives are, as I have admired her since 1992. But I found that this is a great reference point for everyone about serious details that got over looked or skewed. Some have said she is blaming, but I found her to be quite self deprecating at times. For me it gave a clearer picture as to “the emails”. Of course it is her POV, but I feel she has done a terrific job at countering everything with a positive outlook and has given clear outlines as to how we can all move forward. I was particularly moved by the many instances she gives of reaching out to communities and trying to gain more perspective on real issues facing not just her supporters, but everyone. I especially applaud her for admitting mistakes, and her visit to “the rust belt” which honestly had to take guts after the comments she made about coal miners. And she takes accountability for it all. That is what really impressed upon me how important this book can be viewed. And maybe one day it will be a great reference to this time and answer the questions that future generations are going to wonder about what happened. Personally I felt like she repeated “I let them down” too much. My feelings aside, I would respect anyone willing to say that after such an ugly race.
I can’t think of many, if any people would have this vantage point. There are and were so many unsettling issues our country faces that she brought to light and offered her ideas on how to deal with them, and how she would have approached the Oval Office. I almost feel that if this were written by anyone else, it would be a wonderful resource to anyone in our country or not. I would encourage people to read it in spite of the author. But for her supporters, I think it is a must.
The one thing the book didn’t or couldn’t give was the rhetorical answer as to why she is so polarizing to our society. I’ve noticed it since 1992, and I still can’t figure it out. But luckily she doesn’t spend much time trying to solve that riddle.

Melissa Rivers delivers this audiobook so wonderfullu, that it is hard not to imagine Joan sitting next to her with editory notes! It is funny and insightful. This book reminds us why we loved Joan so much. It was more than the jokes, she was that rare celebrity that you just felt like was one of your friends, someone you could relate to, and laugh with. She was truly one of a kind, and we were blessed to have known her!

This is by far the best book I have personally read about the late Princess of Wales. It takes the reader through the entire saga that captivated the world of the 80's and 90's. It is honest and quite balanced, and cuts Diana no more slack than any of the other players of this most talked about marriage of the 20th century. After completion, i am left with the comstant sadness that was Diana's lot in life, and a great deal of respect for the Pince of Wales I had never had. I truly believe after listening to this book, that this marriage may have actually had a chance were it not for the continually overbearing circumstances these two encountered. And on a deeper level, am left with the feeling that they both retained a genuine tenderness for each other. They were both loving, they were both spiteful, they were both human beings.

It is not surprising that the Queens legacy will always outshine Diana's. However, I doubt even the palace would want the former Princess' name to be smeared to this level. She was not perfect. But this book offers Diana no allowances, if for nothing else, than for her naivete and youthful antics when first entering the palace gates. I doubt even her worst enemies of Windsor would find this to be a fair and balanced account.
