Historia
When unforeseen circumstances during an innovative—and unsanctioned—commercial asteroid-mining mission leave two crew members stranded, those who make it back must engineer a rescue, all while navigating a shifting web of global political alliances and renewed Cold War tensions. With Earth governments consumed by the ravages of climate change and unable to take the risks necessary to make rapid progress in space, the crew must build their own next-gen spacecraft capable of mounting a rescue in time for the asteroid's next swing by Earth.

Cheesy, unrealistic view of humanity
Revisado: 02-22-23
From the climate panic to the view of benevolent, savior tycoons to the evil, old government officials, it's cheesy. This is not the same type of writing as Daemon. This is written for those who like Marvel movies - simplistic and childish.

AMAZING BOOK with AMAZING NARRATORS!
Revisado: 05-19-18
This is such a complete story. It’s thought-provoking, historical, and just really well laid out. Both of the narrators were fantastic, but the narrator that did Rill’s voice was exceptional in my opinion. She had the perfect accent and a really pleasant voice. Both of the women did the little kids’ voices really well also. This was just an exceptional book told by exceptional narrators! Well done!

Narrator is fast...
Revisado: 04-11-18
This is a GREAT book!! One I wish I would have read instead of listened. The narrator is quite fast in her speech and so you lose some emotion in the characters and in the processing of the characters’ situations. Also, she portrayed all of the female characters as more perky than I would have if I read the book myself. The classroom teacher is a perfect example of this. When I felt she was being empathetic, the narrator instead voiced her as upbeat. It wasn’t awful, but I do think the narration took away from the story line.

I really felt this book could have gone so much deeper into the conflicts and situations the women faced. I think this is a book though that I should have read instead of listened to through audible. I probably would have gotten more out of it.

Great book!
Revisado: 04-05-18
My 11 year old has also read this book. She liked it so much that she’s reading all the sequels to Wonder. Great for any age! Adults can probably think more deeply about the personalities, motives, situations, etc. but kids also understand and can relate and empathize.

Scratches the surface of love and war, but...
Revisado: 04-03-18
This book seems to scratch the surface of love and war, but never really elicited any real emotion. I personally didn’t feel any real depth in this book. There wasn’t anything that really made me think deeper about such an important time in history. It’s definitely more of a love story than a historical one. I really wanted more insight on Japan and the internment camps, but everything felt really rushed and glossed over. Also, the narrator that did Leo’s character was literally emotionless. In scenes that required screaming or panic or anger, they instead were almost done at a whisper. The narrator’s energy never changed regardless of what was happening! This may have played into my lack of connection to the book. I don’t know. All together though I felt the story was just lacking.

Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.

Historia
Boisterous, ribald, and ultimately shattering, Ken Kesey's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest has left an indelible mark on the literature of our time. Turning conventional notions of sanity and insanity on their heads, the novel tells the unforgettable story of a mental ward and its inhabitants, especially tyrannical Big Nurse Ratched and Randle Patrick McMurphy, the brawling, fun-loving new inmate who resolves to oppose her.

John C. Reilly is one of the best narrators I've ever heard!
Revisado: 03-09-17
This is one of the few books I would rather listen to than read. John C. Reilly performed each character so well, that it felt more like a movie than someone reading to me. I'm beyond impressed with his performance. I hope he narrates more books with audible.

Awkward narrator, great story
Revisado: 07-16-15
The narrator was difficult to enjoy, mispronounced quite a few words, and added strange pauses between words.
Despite that, the story is great! To live through his eyes for two years in Mexican California is so interesting. This book is definitely a must listen for anyone who enjoys hearing about life as it was in the past.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Unbelievably awesome
Revisado: 03-03-15
I have never been very interested in space, but I saw this book had great reviews. I also love geeky, action-filled books. So, I bought it. Amazing doesn't do it justice. The struggles, the fight for survival, and the science were so cool that I haven't been able to stop blabbing about how awesome this book is to everyone I know who listens to Audible books. The story is wonderful, and the performance is perfect. Now, I'm just a little depressed that it's over. I can't think of anything I could read next that will live up to this!
