Historia
My name's Griz. I've never been to school, I've never had friends, and in my whole life I've not met enough people to play a game of football. My parents told me how crowded the world used to be, before all the people went away. But we were never lonely on our remote island. We had each other and our dogs. Then the thief came.

heal yourself heal the world
Revisado: 07-10-24
repetitive self love but no tangible suggestions on how to do so. it's important to understand, however the book luck must be desired. Author has potential and maybe someday will write a book that has a little more chew it than just some affirmations

As a Potawatomi woman, she learned from elders, family, and history that the Potawatomi, as well as a majority of other cultures indigenous to this land, consider plants and animals to be our oldest teachers.

Healing, hopeful, native American honor, climate
Revisado: 07-11-23
The stories of the native American author are told beautifully. Some of the stories are long but they are told in a way that hugs your heart. If you stay with it, she will win your heart and help heal your connection to the earth. I found this book peaceful, enjoyable and one of my favorites this year.

Historia
In January 2019, culture writer Anne Helen Petersen set the internet on fire with her viral BuzzFeed essay diagnosing “millennial burnout” - a chronic state of stress and exhaustion that’s become a “base temperature” for young people today. Now, she continues this generation-defining conversation in a brand-new format, interviewing millennials around the country about their own deeply personal experiences with burnout, and the culture that creates it.

not really a burnout story
Revisado: 05-03-23
The title of the book is a little misleading as the story doesn't necessarily focus on burnout or any real solutions to the problem. It is more of a podcast than it is a book. It was just okay for me.

Historia
Nathan Runkle would have been a fifth-generation farmer in his small Midwestern town. Instead, he founded our nation's leading nonprofit organization for protecting factory farmed animals. In Mercy for Animals, Nathan brings us into the trenches of his organization's work; from MFA's early days in grassroots activism, to dangerous and dramatic experiences doing undercover investigations, to the organization's current large-scale efforts at making sweeping legislative change to protect factory farmed animals and encourage compassionate food choices.

Mercy for animals is hopeful and triumphant
Revisado: 01-22-21
Mercy for animals shines a much needed light on the unnecessary abuse farm animals endure. I loved the journey Nathan shared of his upbringing and compassion for animals. The stories are heartbreaking but told well and not in a way that is to difficult to hear. The stories need to be told and the lessons shared in this book; I will remember always. Mercy for animals is a hopeful and triumphant story.
I am vegan but understand people will always want some meat on their plate. Mercy for animals fights to make their lives better.
We need more people like Nathan and the Mercy for animals family. By taking a moment to listen you are helping to change the world into a more compassionate and sustainable place for all.
