Historia
In virtually every way that can be measured, Gen Z’s mental health is worse than that of previous generations. Youth suicide rates are climbing, antidepressant prescriptions for children are common, and the proliferation of mental health diagnoses has not helped the staggering number of kids who are lonely, lost, sad and fearful of growing up. What’s gone wrong with America’s youth? In Bad Therapy, bestselling investigative journalist Abigail Shrier argues that the problem isn’t the kids—it’s the mental health experts.

OUTSTANDING
Revisado: 04-28-24
Maybe the best book I’ve read…EVER. As a parent, this book should resonate with you page after page. It’s all such common sense stuff that is probably lurking deep with the recesses of our brains, but no one will ever just come out and say it. Abigail Shrier says it…and she’s right. Over and over again she’s so right. Thank you for writing this important book and shining a light on the dark places of mental health “therapy” that no one really wants to see. I can’t wait to encourage everyone I know to read this book. I would give it 10 stars if I could.

A woman boards a plane in the African country of Burkina Faso having just completed a targeted assassination for the state of Israel. Two minutes later, her plane is blown out of the sky. Over 6,000 miles away, former Navy SEAL James Reece watches the names and pictures of the victims on cable news. One face triggers a distant memory of a Mossad operative attached to the CIA years earlier in Iraq—a woman with ties to the intelligence services of two nations…a woman Reece thought he would never see again.

Kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. I am both fascinated and terrified by the likely existence of ‘Alice’ or one of her quantum computing siblings. Can’t wait for Jack Carr’s upcoming nonfiction series.

Historia
With its brilliant and brutal portrayal of the Corleone family, The Godfather burned its way into our national consciousness. This unforgettable saga of crime and corruption, passion and loyalty continues to stand the test of time, as the definitive novel of the Mafia underworld. A #1 New York Times bestseller in 1969, Mario Puzo's epic was turned into the incomparable film of the same name, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. It is the original classic that has been often imitated, but never matched.

A classic book that I’ve always wanted to read, but never took the time to sit down and finish. After watching The Offer recently, I knew it was time to read The Godfather and it did not disappoint. Fantastic from start to finish. Definitely worthy of all the hype.

Major Richard J. "Dick" Meadows is renowned in military circles as a key figure in the development of the U.S. Army Special Operations. A highly decorated war veteran of the engagements in Korea and Vietnam, Meadows was instrumental in the founding of the U.S. Delta Force and hostage rescue force. Fantastic
Revisado: 08-22-22
I normally don’t read fiction at all. I prefer military history or non-fiction. But I decided to try The Terminal List on the recommendation of a friend. It was fantastic. True Believer is even better. I would say much much better. Just a phenomenal story, great writing, and I thought the narrator did a great job. I cannot wait for the next one.

Historia
As coaches to some of golf's top players, Pia Nilsson and Lynn Marriott have designed and refined a revolutionary way of teaching the game, with great results. They don't believe in prescribing the same stance, grip, and swing to everyone, followed by hours of purposeless drilling. They don't even believe in beginning with physical technique. Their success has proven to them that a great game begins with a great vision. Every Shot Must Have a Purpose offers cutting-edge techniques for integrating the physical, technical, mental, emotional, and social parts of a player's game.

Historia
The Big Miss is Hank Haney's candid and surprisingly insightful account of his tumultuous six-year journey with Tiger Woods, during which the supremely gifted golfer collected six major championships and rewrote golf history. Hank was one of the very few people allowed behind the curtain. He was with Tiger 110 days a year, spoke to him over 200 days a year, and stayed at his home up to 30 days a year, observing him in nearly every circumstance....

Interesting look behind the curtain...
Revisado: 05-19-21
As a golf fan, I definitely enjoyed this insiders look at what happens behind the scenes. Overall, I would characterize Tiger as mostly sad and lonely figure. He no doubt brought a lot of heat and negative attention upon himself, but a lot of those behaviors were probably due to the high pressure world he has lived in since he was old enough to walk.
I would have left out about 75% of chapter 8. It came across as very self-serving and self aggrandizing. I thought Hank did a great job throughout the book of remaining modest...until that last chapter.

Historia
The paths of the great American robber barons were paved with riches, and though ordinary citizens paid for them, they also profited. Les Standiford, author of the John Deal thrillers, tells how the man who turned Florida's swamps into the playgrounds of the rich performed the almost superhuman feat of building a railroad from the mainland to Key West at the turn of the century.

Did not enjoy it
Revisado: 08-21-20
I wanted to like this book but just couldn’t ever get into it. I had to force myself to finish it. This is NOT a biography of Henry Flagler...it’s more of a construction tale. If you’re interested in civil engineering, bridge building, etc. you will probably enjoy this book.
