Historia
Woke Jesus uncovers the real dangers to Christianity and America from the Christian Left, Progressive or Woke Christianity. These radical alternatives abandon traditional biblical interpretations regarding marriage, gender, racial equality, justice, original sin, heaven and hell, and salvation, replacing them within a new fabricated morality. This fabrication is built around political correctness, cancel culture, hedonistic values, obsession with public health, allegiance to the leftist state, universalism, and virtue signaling.

There's Only ONE Jesus
Revisado: 09-21-23
It's so common today to hear people refer to a Jesus they feel comfortable about rather than the Jesus of the Bible.
Why is this a big deal? Because Jesus said He is the "way, the truth, and the life," and that "no one comes to the Father except through Him." He's the only way and that includes false representations of Him in Islam, Mormonism, through J. W's, the Jesus Seminar, and any other person or organization that presents a version of Jesus that does not line up with the Bible.
Lucas Miles does a great job of exposing the dangers of the latest counterfeit--the WOKE Jesus. I highly recommend this book!

Historia
In the aftermath of World War II, America stood alone as the world's premier military power. Yet its martial confidence contrasted vividly with its sense of cultural inferiority. Still looking to a defeated and dispirited Europe for intellectual and artistic guidance, burgeoning transnational elite in New York and Washington embraced not only the war's refugees but many of their ideas as well, and nothing has proven more pernicious than those of the Frankfurt School and its reactionary philosophy of "critical theory".

Should be read by everyone!
Revisado: 09-10-21
This would have 5 stars if it weren't for the knee-jerk reaction of trolls who rate it low without reading it simply because it doesn't appear to align with their worldview. It's tough to argue with the facts and history presented here--no, it's impossible--because they're facts. If you are at all interested in how America got itself into such a cultural quagmire--read this. But only if you're willing to see just how far down the rabbit hole goes!

Just one issue
Revisado: 07-28-18
David Spade is hilarious! I especially loved his voiced character in "The Emperor's New Groove." The only issue I have is that he (like so many others) seems to think he isn't as funny without dropping F-bombs every five minutes and talking like a pervert. Wish he would leave that to the amateurs who truly have no game without crudeness. David doesn't need to go that route.

New York Times bestselling author Lysa TerKeurst shares her own deeply personal experiences of rejection from the perceived judgment of the perfectly toned woman one elliptical over to the incredibly painful childhood abandonment by her father. She leans in to honestly examine the roots of rejection, as well as rejection's ability to poison relationships from the inside out, including our relationship with God.

Lysa' books just keep getting better, deeper, more practical. But what sets her apart is that she actually lives this stuff! The Lysa you meet in public is the same in smaller groups, with friends, family...wherever. Lately she has also shown the world what it means to suffer well for our Lord. Amazing daughter of the King!

Christians today face a dilemma: In a world that seems to reject everything we believe, how do we walk closely with God without caving to pressure or alienating those we hope to reach? In this eye-opening new book, Chris Hodges provides a solution by examining the life of the prophet Daniel, who persevered in a corrupt culture that closely resembles our own — and emerged as an influential force in God’s redemptive plan.

Revisado: 10-28-17
Even though the biblical account is from several thousand years ago--it's eerie how America is quickly becoming Babylon. Because of this, Christians need to be ever ready to give an account for what they believe and how they are living. Even more so as the Lord's return draws closer. This book will get you prepared!

It's a radical, provocative idea: We're not entitled to get offended or stay angry. The idea of our own "righteous anger" is a myth. It is the number-one problem in our societies today and, as Dallas Willard says, Christians have not been taught out of it.

A Vital Message
Revisado: 09-08-17
What did you love best about Unoffendable?
The author has exposed the pink elephant in the room. Christians are losing their influence in culture today mainly because--instead of loving people who are far from God--they just get offended when they don't live up to Christlike standards. But how can we expect people to act like Jesus if they don't even know Him?!
What did you like best about this story?
The way the actor exposed the silliness of simply getting offended at everything. And I love his use of humor!
Have you listened to any of Brant Hansen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
N/A
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes
Any additional comments?
I will be anxiously awaiting Brant's next book and start tuning in to his podcasts, etc. He has a great way of cutting through all the baloney!

Solid on grace
Revisado: 02-10-06
The five purposes are nothing new, and Rick Warren would be the first to say that he did not come up with them. He did, however, make Christ's five purposes easier to understand and follow for young believers.
As to whether or not the scripture use throughout the book is proper or not, I find it to be mostly accurate. The only paraphrase he uses liberally is, "The Message" while others are lesser known but fairly solid translations (either word by word (NASB) or phrase by phrase (NIV)).
One sad outcome of the release of this very godly book is the legalistic 'Christians' who jump on the anti Rick Warren band wagon without doing their own checking first. Rick Warren has helped millions of Christians and Christian leaders alike.
Just accept the horribly frightening fact that a godly man with good motives might just want to help others find a deeper life in Christ. PERIOD.
