Historia
A novel of high adventure, great storytelling and moral purpose, based on an extraordinary true story of eight years in the Bombay underworld. In the early 80s, Gregory David Roberts, an armed robber and heroin addict, escaped from an Australian prison to India, where he lived in a Bombay slum. There, he established a free health clinic and also joined the mafia, working as a money launderer, forger and street soldier. He found time to learn Hindi and Marathi, fall in love, and spend time being worked over in an Indian jail.

Historia
This book which we've been working on for the last four years is called the The Movie of Me to the Movie of We. Everyone has a "Movie of Me" that they firmly believe in. As Krishna Das says, "You wake up in the morning, and you are the star, producer, writer, director, and cinematographer of the Movie of Me 24/7." In fact, we write our own reviews! That constant self-referential point of view leads to daily angst and unhappiness. In this book, we discuss and share ways to transform what the Buddhists call 'self-cherishing' into a deep connectivity with all of life itself.

An amazing message in a wonderful voice
Revisado: 09-11-20
This book has been incredibly helpful to my personal and professional life. It boils down the fabric of reality into an entertaining story that shines with simplicity and applicability. What I especially love about it is the way that the author outlines all the ways in which we basically get cheated, or cheat ourselves out of the life we wish to life. It’s broken down in such eloquent and simple terms that it gave me so much clarity on how to stop getting in my own way. The audio program is read by the author, his voice is calm, deep and soothing and it was a joy to listen to. You can really feel the authors passion for the content and the fact that he’s really lived through the content of the book himself.

Historia
This is not your typical Zen book. Brad Warner, a young punk who grew up to be a Zen master, spares no one. This bold new approach to the "Why?" of Zen Buddhism is as strongly grounded in the tradition of Zen as it is utterly revolutionary. Warner's voice is hilarious, and he calls on the wisdom of everyone from punk and pop culture icons to the Buddha himself to make sure his points come through loud and clear.

Best Zen book ever
Revisado: 06-29-15
I read a lot about zen and Buddhism but this one takes the cake. Simple, true and hardcore to the bone. An absolute must read for anyone even mildly interested in zen and Buddhism.
The fact that it is read and edited by the author (and his cat) really makes this a unique listening experience.
