Best Described as creating Cognitive Dissonance

As I listened to the story I found myself conflicted. It started off innocent enough but it was hard to view through the lens of a love story; probably because it's not. As uncomfortable as it was, I did push through and listened to the end. Honestly, I'm still unsettled and haven't reconciled my feeling over this book. Warning it's not for the faint of heart and not your traditional coming-of-age story.

Delightful Book that this adult enjoyed.

Captivating Book

This book had my attention for the very start. It gives a look into the world that is often overlooked. We'll written and magnificently performed.

Self serving main character

I found this book very long winded, so much unnecessary fillers went into it. The performance was horrible. Every time I'd hear the word Babe I felt like turning off the audible. even more unlike was the main character.

Only somewhat terrible

I managed to get through the entire book, but just barley. I never once found myself rooting for the main character, Lucy. I found her to be a self absorbed whining brat much like the character of her son. Also the narrating is horrible. I often found myself getting frustrated with the narration that I wanted to turn it off. The only reason I got through it was because I wanted to know what happend to Marva.

This book is the most underwhelming book I've listened to in a long time. She comes off as a self-absorbed, entitled person. I got through a couple of hours and then couldn't stand it. I'm returning the book.

Not much substance

The narrator is good but there's not really much depth to this book. It's all things we know, common sense stuff.

As I listened to the first few chapters I thought, oh no, this is sounding like a book by a blogger become author. To my surprise, after a few chapters the story line developed. I found myself listening to the book whenever I could.

Comforting Listen

The listen provided some comfort by giving insights into what could happen to our pets when they leave us. Overall it was a great book, but I felt the author spent a significant time talking about herself. While I get why she provided her background, I think it could have been a bit more succinct.
The content itself was good, but there wasn't much depth behind it other than anecdotal stories. I wanted to understand 'how' and 'why' things happen, not just the what happens. So if you're like me, this book might leave you yearning for more answers.
