Historia
Two-time Grammy-winning rap artist, Lecrae, learned this lesson through more than his share of adversity - childhood abuse, drugs and alcoholism, a stint in rehab, an abortion, and an unsuccessful suicide attempt. Along the way, Lecrae attained an unwavering faith in Jesus and began looking to God for affirmation. Now as a chart-topping industry anomaly, he has learned to ignore the haters and make peace with his craft.

Historia
Alisa Childers never thought she would question her Christian faith. She was raised in a Christian home, where she had seen her mom and dad feed the hungry, clothe the homeless, and love the outcast. She had witnessed God at work and then had dedicated her own life to leading worship as part of the popular Christian band ZOEgirl. All that was deeply challenged when she met a progressive pastor who called himself a hopeful agnostic. Another Gospel? describes the intellectual journey Alisa took over several years as she wrestled with a series of questions.

A beautiful story about survival and hope.
Revisado: 12-27-22
While I am very familiar with the history of Nazi Germany and the concentration camps where many were murdered, mostly Jews, I had never heard of what happened in Russia post WWII. Wow! This story is not only beautifully written, but it also educates and intrigues the reader to learn more on this subject. My favorite out of the 3 in this series.

Historia
Against all odds, three Slovakian sisters have survived years of imprisonment in the most notorious death camp in Nazi Germany: Auschwitz. But now, the allies are closing in and the sisters have one last hurdle to face: the death march from Auschwitz, as the Nazis try to erase any evidence of the prisoners held there. Due to a last minute stroke of luck, the three of them are able to escape formation and hide in the woods for days.

As a child, I did not read much. When I started home schooling, I loved reading to my kids and my kids loved reading. I started reading myself as well for pleasure. I also have gone back and read many of the books that I would have read as a child. This is one of them. I am so glad I decided to read it. Well, listened to it. Absolutely beautiful.

Life Changing!
Revisado: 11-03-22
As a home school mom of over 20 years, I have always known that reading aloud to children and teens has a lot of benefits. As a matter of fact, my favorite curriculum, Sonlight has both readers and read alouds. A few years ago, I was also introduced to a program called Read Aloud Revival which had tons of important information and lists of books recommended. This book though, has so much research that solidifies how important it is to take time to read aloud to your children, your teens, your grandchildren, and even your spouse and your elderly parents or grandparents. This truly is a must read to everyone breathing.

Amy Carmichael stood on the deck of the steamer, waving good-bye once again to her old friend Robert Wilson. How could she have known she would never see him or the British Isles again? Amy was certain God had called her to India. Indeed! India would be home for the rest of her life. Amy's life was marked by a simple, determined obedience to God, regardless of circumstances. Her story and legacy are stunning reminders of the impact of one person who will fear God and nothing else.

Amy Carmichael's (1867-1951) life was one of simple, determined obedience to God, regardless of the consequences. Her service in India is a vivid example of the impact one person who will fear God and nothing else can have. Driven by love, sustained by faith and determination, this young woman from Northern Ireland defied the cruel barriers of India's caste system.

A beautifully written story which brings history to life. I have always loved historical fiction novels, but this one, because it's based on the lives of two people who were real just makes it more beautiful, powerful, captivating, and truly insightful. A must read!
