I would love to see this as a full theatrical production. I started it while working but had to stop because I was neglecting my work. It's a haunting tale and the narration was beautifully crafted. Job well done!

A nice spin on historical fiction.
Revisado: 08-24-24
Though the topic may put some people off, this was a well crafted listen. As a person who works with teenagers, I appreciated the dialogue as well as the use of the podcast format. Always one for a good mystery the use of time travel only enhanced the narrative, plus it helped with creating a tone for truths that are sometimes hard to swallow. This may not be your thing, as some people like to leave the past in the past, but I enjoyed it. If you are not one who can separate themselves from the harsh realities of our past, then I would suggest a fantasy or a romance novel. All in all good job. I look forward to more adventures.

Historia
There are three things you need to know about Anna. 1) She's a bounty hunter with adrenaline junkie habits, 2) She's the "awkward" twin, and 3) She's a thief - kind of. Darius designs security systems for Cipher Security, and the strange and remarkable woman he met the night the painting was stolen is as intriguing a mystery as his hunt for the thief is. But the lady has no filter, and she knows she can't lie to the man who looks like a Disney prince and kisses like fairytales are true.

I'm not mad at it.
Revisado: 03-28-24
Well, I liked the story, I liked the characters it just felt a little disjointed. Where to begin? The narrators were great at their characters but they definitely could have used a little more voice training when it came to voicing the other's role, this explains the 3 stars. (I rarely give less than 4... as a performer I get it.) The chahracter of Anna was all over the place. A quality that I truly loved. It just felt a little too flighty therefore making it a little too much. I too am one for boots and unhinged boughts of imagination, but this felt forced or didn't come across as smoothly as intended. This is fiction, so I'm not looking for facts but it could have been smoother. Overall, I enjoyed it. I'm not mad at it. It was a good listen.

From the opening song to last words of the final episode I loved every minute of this podcast. It's the perfect amount of ridiculousness. Highly recommend!

... that this would break my heart. I wasn't ready. First, how dare Ms. Stewart write such a romantically tragic story? This well crafted piece of beauty had all of the things and I mean ALL OF THE THINGS! The moment when Dom realizes that he is indeed loved, broke me. I'm content with knowing that this character got the one thing he deserved. Great job across the board! Story, Performance, Overall - this is an A+++. A must read/listen epic tale. I didn't want it to end because I knew...

Respect all, fear none.... I lived by my father’s motto until River entered the MMA cage; River’s brown eyes reflected mystery, and his soul held darkness. Off-limits to a good girl like me. One day, the demons that haunted River swallowed him whole. Forever passed away, yet I failed at forgetting the beast who showed me a tender side of him. Now, I’m the law. A cop. River’s as gorgeous as sin. An ex-convict. And I’m the reason he was tossed in the slammer.

The narration was fine. The male voice could have been a little bit younger but overall the voices were good. Great emotion, truthful expression. The story missed the mark, for me. I had to stop halfway through. I just didn't care to know more about these characters. The development for them was lacking, at best.
Dominance needs nuance and this had none.
Maybe it's me, I just think you should save your credit.

Can I get an editor? PLEASE????
Revisado: 05-15-23
Was this a good story? - It could have been.
Did it drag on? YES!!!
I love a good coming of age story. I love that this story, in it's entirety, tells of a young woman's struggle with grief and acceptance. The struggle is real. But did this particular experience have to take 3 separate installments? I mean, if there is an abridged version, send it my way. Many times throughout this series, I found myself saying 'I get it!" For example, I get it! You are still working through the grief of your sister's death. But do we need a reminder every chapter? Or -
I get it, the voices are repeating...and repeating...and repeating.
It could have used more heat and less pity. Plus, the character development felt very one dimensional. Sure, witnessing your sister's death makes for a multifaceted catalyst for a character's journey and living in a sibling's shadow sucks, but when these two and only these two points creates the same road blocks at every turn the story telling feels flat and insincere. Honestly, if she had more dimensions in her development, the story would have been shorter and probably better. She was just a self-loathing wreck. Even in the end, she couldn't just live in the moment.
The performance was great, though - both narrators gave good voice.
And last but not least - if you plan on using a person of color as your lead maybe do more research. It's not all braids and satin hair wraps.

Sonja Fong isn’t afraid of a little chaos. As director of the League’s research center in Mystic Bayou, a tiny town in Louisiana that’s home to supernatural creatures and humans alike, she’s responsible for making sure things run smoothly. Can I move there?
Revisado: 06-19-21
I love this series. It's the right amount of romance and fantasy. I am a little miffed about the Bourbon St. scene. I get it, people have thoughts about the French Quarter, but for starters, no one and I mean NO ONE can simply turn on to Bourbon St. in a car. It's impossible. Plus it would have been nice if the men that were encountered were celebrating something, maybe The Running of the Bulls or the Red Dress Run. That's my only issue. Other than that I love it and I can't wait for Jon's story.
