Historia
Now reduced to a schoolyard chant, the Hope family murders shocked the Maine coast one bloody night in 1929. While most people assume seventeen-year-old Lenora was responsible, the police were never able to prove it. Other than her denial after the killings, she has never spoken publicly about that night, nor has she set foot outside Hope’s End, the cliffside mansion where the massacre occurred.

Keeps you guessing!
Revisado: 12-14-24
This story had me hooked! There were a few Easter eggs that I picked up on, but there were too many twists to guess them all. Overall, it had all the elements of a fantastic gothic novel, and I tip to my to the author because I’m picky AF about modern gothic horror (yes, I realize this was set in the 80s. I was born in the 80s. It’s contemporary lol) I’ve been in a reading slump for almost three years due exacerbations of my disability, and this is the first book in that long of time that I stayed up past my bedtime because I couldn’t get enough. Narration was wonderful, very soothing and distinct characters. 10/10 recommend!

Interesting enough to hold my attention
Revisado: 01-23-24
I feel like the style of writing wasn’t for me and that’s obviously not the writer’s fault, but I did feel as though it was a very slow moving plot which was interesting but never quite got captivating. I felt the story could have shortened in some areas to make room for more suspense and action. By the time we finally get to good parts, it’s almost to the end.

Great podcast with a lot of content I’d never heard before when I first started listening to true crime. Look forward to every new episode. I also feel these stories are told in an ethical and respectful manner to the victims and loved ones.
