Historia
Siblings Michael and Ellery Lisbon are desperate for a fresh start. Reeling after a series of misfortunes, the pair settle down in the quiet town of Plum Hollow in the hopes of kick-starting their stalled lives. The house they move into is unbelievably affordable—a seeming gem in a ferociously competitive market. But it was in this house that, two years prior, a family was savagely butchered. Despised by their neighbors, the siblings are left to grapple with the grisly reality of the house's past—and with the possibility that the evil behind the slayings is still present.

This book is so meh

It...just no. Really try anything else, not by this author. It just drags on, is nonsensical, really try hard. Audiobook reader does great work though.

Episode Thirteen takes them to every ghost hunter's holy grail: the Paranormal Research Foundation. This brooding, derelict mansion holds secrets and clues about bizarre experiments that took place there in the 1970s. It's also famously haunted, and the team hopes their scientific techniques and high tech gear will prove it. But as the house begins to reveal itself to them, proof of an afterlife might not be everything Matt dreamed of.

Its an audio comic, not a book.
Revisado: 04-24-23
I loved the writing, loved the story. But i wanted an audiobook. Not a audio version of a tv show. A comic. Sound effects, clattering, banging, creaks that drown out the -actual narration-. Drowning out the book. Music, people acting out the words, replacing my imagination. I can imagine hysterical laughter, I dont need an actress screaming into my ears with actual laughter. Can people just make the book, let us , the readers, decide how we want it to be?

This book ruined my day.
Revisado: 04-21-21
Today I expected to spend the day listening to this book and cleaning my storage shed. However, I am 2 hours into this book and I've needed to pause it already because it's too creepy. I can't work today because it's dimly lit in the shed and this book has made me so paranoid I swear I am hearing things. That yawning open maw of a mouth in the shadows, the draping billowing curtain......Ugh! Instead of cleaning today and tomorrow, I am likely going to be listening to this book inside of my house with all the lights on. Thanks Ambrose.
I love Ambrose's books so much when will he go viral so that I can read these with people instead of alone in the semi dark....

This is a really weird story.
Revisado: 04-09-21
Necrophilia, cannibalism...this book isn't for everyone. It's very well written, very original, and a cute, unique take on "Weirdo love". It's not really a book I'll re-read but it's a really good story and came highly recommended in a Horror Lovers book club I am in. If you can handle the subject matter I think you'll love it. If you love horror, I think you'll love it.

Told from the realistic sounding perspective of a teenage boy under duress, a cat and mouse confrontation between killer and witness this story is a coming of age tale that you won't soon forget.
