A satisfying continuation of the Dune saga

The multiple readers bugs me, but it's otherwise a good book. It definitely scratches my itch for more Dune stuff.

If you have an under treated anxiety disorder you might want to save this for a good day but otherwise it's an excellent book.

A little too Douglas Adams

A little too Douglas Adams. Not much traditional fantasy content. I was hoping for something like "Guards! Guards!".

Good but it has a wierd audio issue where it sounds like the reader turned away from the microphone sometimes.

Poor execution

Starts with direct (author to reader with no additional context) explanation and justification for each of the contrived words used in the book. I stopped listening after a few minutes of the stretching made up words over things that shouldn't need to be explained in a glossary. Including explaining that some words are used as standins for real words for things being mapped to fictional things. Learning a new fictional language isn't a good prerequisite to enjoying a book written in English.
I'm all for made up words in fiction, but inventing so many that they can't be explained as part of the story is poor judgement.

It is very good but a definite immediately post 9/11 political influence on the plot.

so far this trilogy feels like a single story split across 3 books. this ends on a bit of a cliffhanger.
there are some minor performance problems like background noise (paper noises, reader breathing in pauses between lines), technical jargon mispronunciation, and character-voice mismatches.

You need to read/listen to this. It is a treatise on abusive government. What's more, the tactics used by Big Brother are natural tendencies used by authoritarian governments and political groups around the world. If those tendencies go uncorrected this is a portrait of what the results will be like (where/are like in some instances).
