Debbie's reading of this book will reinvigorate the long neglected punk rock soul in anyone.
So many great stories, snapshots of daily life and tiny morsels of tasty details about the ups and downs of the music business.
Debbie has marched through life with brains, beauty and balls. It's a GREAT book!!

Patti is much more than the Punk Rock chick that burst out in the early days of that musical revolution.
She had been there long before CBGB's and taking the stage on Saturday Night Live.
Her lconnection ito Robert Mapllethorpe was really surprising to me. Until reading this book I thought they were only cursory friends.
This book quite loving and respectful. it is full of love, adoration along with some very painful experiences .
I love this book, fir me it was like breathing in the smells and fragrances of my teenage years. my romance with music, art and literature far off the beaten path.

I've never been a huge fan of Phil's 80s music. it was a bit to easy listening for my taste. However, listening to the back stories of songs like "Easy Lover" and his work with Disney put things Ina different light. I was expecting a lot of "Money Grab" moments but there are all sorts of contractual agreements, obligatory issues and the desire to reach different audiences.
I very much enjoyed the zero to sixty start of the Genesis story,. There iare great snippets into each of the original and and newer members.
This book lacks nothing, it is a tell all without the gossip and gas given me a new appreciation for Phil Collins.

Really loved the honest and raw telling of this book in Richard's own voice.
Aside from his history with Television, Richard's history is dense with great tales of rock and roll and humanity.

I never skimmed past a print story, review or interview having to do with Lou or the Velvets. I really thought I had heard or read all the stories, many I assumed we're fictional, or at least exaggerations.
This books hits on the obvious bullet points of Lou's career, but there are some tasty morsels slipped in there, each album anaylized (almost track by track) and the "logic" of Lou's musical direction.

Like many other artist I've read about (listened with audible) [Springsteen, Dylan, a few others], I never really followed their musical careers. I knew the hits, but never the deeper cuts that better define their work.
Although it's not a song by song exploration, it covers the tunes you might want to seek out to get the general idea.
Aside from the music this book is chock full if stories about the music business and people surrounding Joni. Stories of David Crosby, Leonard Cohen and Jaco Pastorius and many more, some riveting, fill this book.

This book was so informative. it connects the dots from X to The Germs to the Go Gos to the Blasters and so many more.
The LA punk scene we saw in The Decline of Western Civilization was just a glimpse into the many years these
pioneers of new music lived actual lives, holding jobs, developing their craft, putting on shows at any venue where they could get gigs.
Hearing the stories told by the people who were there in their own voice; its like sitting around a campfire with the coolest kids in the neighborhood.

I've been an avid music fan since childhood, and always prided myself on the rich diversity that is my record collection.
Somehow, I've overlooked much of Dylan's catalogue.
This was a very informative book on Dylan's personality, and gives a good perspective on the forces that have shaped and influenced him over the years.
There are plenty if surprises, (at least for me).

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Seems a bit exagerrated

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I enjoyed all the stories, but most were told on the Stern show

Was Too Fat to Fish worth the listening time?

Only if you dont know the stories from the Stern Show

Any additional comments?

I Love Artie Lange!!!
