Soon the pair of travelers decide to make the best of it and team up to spread holiday cheer to the other stranded passengers. Super cute rom-com

What a great story to set the mood for the holidays! The narration was exceptional, too. I’ve had this on my “to listen to” list for since last year and glad I pushed play this year.

Historia
For over twenty years, Alan Henry has written about using technology and productivity techniques to work and live better for publications such as Lifehacker, The New York Times, and Wired. But he found that as a Black man he didn’t have access to some of the more powerful ways to hack your job—like only checking email once a day or blocking out time on your calendar to do deep work.

I found the information in this book to be very timely and useful. The performance was not as great as other audiobooks I have listened to in the past. For this particular book, I may have been served better by reading it in print.

Historia
Jenifer Lewis keeps it real in this provocative and touching memoir by a Midwestern girl with a dream whose journey from poverty to Hollywood will move, shock, and inspire listeners. Told in the audacious voice her fans adore, Jenifer describes a road to fame made treacherous by dysfunction and undiagnosed mental illness, including a sex addiction. Yet, supported by loving friends and strengthened by "inner soldiers", Jenifer never stopped entertaining and creating.

An absolute JOY!
Revisado: 07-11-19
I loved this book from beginning to end. I had no idea of how much Jenifer Lewis has accomplished in her career. This book will make you laugh out loud, clutch your pearls and exclaim, "no, she didn't," and tear up from the nuggets of truth she shares. All that Ms. Lewis has shared will not be lost on me, she has given me much to reflect on personally and professionally. Outstanding performance, too. I would only want to hear this story from the Jennifer Lewis.

Historia
Jefferson is an innocent and unwitting party to a deadly liquor store shoot-out in the 1940s. As the only survivor, he is tried and convicted of murder and sentenced to death. Grant Wiggins, a university-trained teacher at the plantation school, is persuaded to visit Jefferson in his cell. Wiggins is torn between staying in his native Cajun community or moving on. The 2 men gradually form a bond as they jointly discover the simple heroism of resisting - and denying - the expected.

A great book for teach in valuable life lessons
Revisado: 03-20-15
I really enjoyed this book, but I would have preferred the unabridged version. I felt like I was missing out on some important details. I listened to this version and filled in the gaps with the actual text. Overall, it's a wonderful story to reflect on the ideas of justice and one's obligation to his or her family/community. I would definitely recommend this book. Lots of lessons!
