showing people coping with very tough problems in our world. addictions, health and cultural clashes. also stereotypes. no easy answers but prayer and perseverance key to settling issues

superbly compelling

dealing with knotty problems all too common. some of the heart and difficult personality clashes in family affair s. the hardest one considered pride and manipulation in church leadership. the wide cast of characters and surprising turns us plot kept the reader from the least boredom, and offering much food for thought.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Not really, as I was expecting much more from this usually great author.

What was most disappointing about Cindy Woodsmall’s story?

The story was just depressing, lacking the usual balance of redeeming bright side Cindy is known to bring out of dark beginnings.

Which scene was your favorite?

The heroine gathering fruit from the loft was the only scene that I still see clearly. It made me both laugh and cry.

Was The Scent of Cherry Blossoms worth the listening time?

Sadly not.

The way the character of Rahab was revealed through her thoughts, actions, reactions.

What does Brooke Sanford Heldman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Awesome performancen in nuance of expression. Great interpretation of character.

If you could take any character from This Scarlet Cord out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Rahab, to hear one on one how her conversion to the Hebrew Elohiem and Yaweh became a reality in her life.

Oh yes! And feel a whole paridigm shift in my racial consciousness!

I thank God for this great book and what it might do to help heal racial divides that persist throughout the country and in the south particularly.
