Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Perfect book!!
Revisado: 07-23-19
What a great well written book. Best of all, there are no unanswered questions left for the reader to fill with their own imagination. I love it when an author does not make the reader finish the ending or other parts of their book.

Historia
When you have to kill the same terrorist twice in one week there’s either something wrong with your world or something wrong with your skills - and there’s nothing wrong with Joe Ledger’s skills. And that’s both a good and a bad thing. It’s good because he’s a Baltimore detective who has just been secretly recruited by the government to lead a new task force created to deal with the problems that Homeland Security can’t handle....

Way Better Than Expected!
Revisado: 12-11-18
I had this book in my library for about 2 years and kept passing it over for other books I assumed would be much better. Wow! How wrong I was. The narration by Mr. Porter was as good as any of the top readers I have come across. All of the characters were exceptional (in my opinion). The story line? Was about as unique as anything I have read before. It was just an excellent story. Now, if you are one of "those people" who sit there and say, "that is not realistic", "that is not possible", "that is just wrong and he did not research it enough", "no way it could happen like that", or "he missed a comma", then first of all I feel sorry for you and secondly, can you just read the book and stop your attempt at grading the novel as if you are an English Lit professor or a first rate editor. I have always assumed that "those people" must have written the best novel never published and think their work is better than just about every book they have read since and are just angry. Here is a tip, your book most likely sucks and every book you have read IS better than yours. So, take the day off and just enjoy whatever book you happen to be reading……with love.

Historia
The Goldfinch is a haunted odyssey through present-day America and a drama of enthralling force and acuity. It begins with a boy. Theo Decker, a 13-year-old New Yorker, miraculously survives an accident that kills his mother. Abandoned by his father, Theo is taken in by the family of a wealthy friend. Bewildered by his strange new home on Park Avenue, disturbed by schoolmates who don't know how to talk to him, and tormented above all by his unbearable longing for his mother, he clings to one thing that reminds him of her: a small, mysteriously captivating painting that ultimately draws Theo into the underworld of art.

Excellent Book....but..
Revisado: 10-30-18
I really enjoyed this book. I realize a lot of readers say it was unneedlessly long, but I actually enjoyed the length. But, I kind of didn't care for the ending. Let me rephrase, the ending was fine but I wish the author would have told us what happened to the characters in the future or at least near future. For example, do Theo and Boris still see each other, when did Popchick die, did Theo ever marry, and if so, to whom, how did Hobie and the business hold up, what happened to Reeves, etc.

NO SPOILERS. The ending!?!?
Revisado: 09-19-18
Before we get to the ending, I will say this: what an excellent and very entertaining book. I am not one of "those" people, when reviewing get into the whole characters were or weren't well developed crap. As far as I am concerned, if I give it 4 to 5 stars then they must have been. I would reccomend this book; especially if you enjoyed Gone Girl or Girl on the Train. OK, now the ending: I hate these types of endings, whether it's in book or movie form. When they do this type of ending (especially in movies) I always feel its stupid and lazy. To me it's as if Hollywood is saying, "Even though you may not understand or agree with the ending, we do because we are smarter than you and understand pure art unlike you normal people".
BUT, for the first time ever, I completely agree and love the ending. In my opinion, it was the perfect ending (I actually clapped at the end).

Historia
Beginning in the summer of 1903, an insidious crime wave filled New York City, and then the entire country, with fear. The children of Italian immigrants were kidnapped, and dozens of innocent victims were gunned down. Bombs tore apart tenement buildings. Judges, senators, Rockefellers, and society matrons were threatened with gruesome deaths. The perpetrators seemed both omnipresent and invisible. Their only calling card: the symbol of a black hand.

Joe Dillard - Sturdy as Usual!
Revisado: 07-19-18
I love series type mystery novels such as, Alex Delaware, Harry Bosch, Eve Duncan, Lincoln Rhyme, Dismas Hardy, Myron Bolitar, Jack Reacher, Lisbeth Salander, etc.
I never heard of the Scott Pratt/Joe Dillard series until it was suggested by Audible a few months ago. I will admit it took some time to get use to narrator Tim Campbell reading style. Now that I am 2 deep into the series, I have no issues with his style. So far, this has been a fantastic series. As good as it is, I am shocked I have never hear of Scott Pratt/Joe Dillard series. The story is excellent and character development is perfect for me.
If you like series type novels, I suggest you start reading this one. As of this writing there are 9 books in the series. I am getting ready to start reading the 3rd one in the collection and I am excited there are 6 more waiting for me. It like a DVR or Netflix “binge watching” for books.

Historia
Sonny Lofthus is a strangely charismatic and complacent young man. Sonny’s been in prison for a dozen years, nearly half his life. The inmates who seek out his uncanny abilities to soothe leave his cell feeling absolved. They don’t know or care that Sonny has a serious heroin habit - or where or how he gets his uninterrupted supply of the drug. Or that he’s serving time for other peoples’ crimes. Sonny took the first steps toward addiction when his father took his own life rather than face exposure as a corrupt cop. Now Sonny is the seemingly malleable center of a whole infrastructure of corruption....

Myron is back!
Revisado: 12-13-16
What made the experience of listening to Home the most enjoyable?
I love Steven Weber's reading of this book. Been a fan of his since he was on the sit-com Wings.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Home?
When this kid was who he said he was.
Which scene was your favorite?
Too many to list/
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Home? (Note the question mark)
Any additional comments?
This is a great series. I don't know if there is a better paring then Myron and Wynn. It is not easy to add humor in a mystery/thriller, but Coben is able to do it without seeming like it's forced.

Two blood-spattered strangers awake, locked in the trunk of a car - with a murdered cop and the smoking gun. Aside from raging headaches and no idea what's happened, they appear to have nothing in common. Troy thinks it's 2001 and he's still a combat surgeon fighting terrorists in Afghanistan.
