Historia
The CIA's deepest secrets are being given away for a larger agenda that will undermine the entire Western intelligence community. Director of National Intelligence Mary Pat Foley wants it stopped but doesn't know who, how, or why. Jack Ryan, Jr., is dispatched to Poland on a different mission. The clues are thin, and the sketchy trail dead ends in a harrowing fight from which he barely escapes with his life. If that's not bad enough, Jack gets more tragic news. An old friend, who's dying from cancer, has one final request for Jack.

Very intense story.
Revisado: 08-26-24
I really enjoyed our conversation thrillers, especially the Jack Ryan and Junior novels. This story was almost too intense without any relief for stress. Poor Junior was beaten way too often without any humor added to the story for relief.
Yes, it is true that I couldn't wait to pick up the story after a break to fix lunch or dinner. I wanted to know if Jack Junior survived again but I am not going to rush in and read the next one until I grow more fingernails to chew on.
I recommend this novel.

Historia
A modern-day shape-shifting sheriff. He’s the sheriff of a sparsely populated county in Montana. His blood brother and childhood best friend is chief of police on the Blackfoot Reservation, but they no longer speak. His deputy is a Southern transplant with the body of a high-priced call girl, a voice of honey and mouth of a trucker. And if that’s not enough, he’s got a secret that would stun those that know him best. Other than that, it’s business as usual for Sheriff Mateo Grey.

Loved this book. Has been a long time since I sat and read a book from cover to cover with only a few breaks.
If you are looking for a story to keep your mind occupied away from your real world…. Open this book and become a part of Mateo’s world.

Love the story but not the narration.
Revisado: 07-20-23
Great story but the accented narration was not done for elderly Americans who have trouble hearing; accents make that worse.
It was all I could do to finish listening to it. Something to consider. I will be more careful in choosing narrated books.

Historia
Technology has developed to the point where a person can be placed in a sleep state: a cross between suspended animation and a drug-induced coma. Just as the trial of the new technology is being completed, an unusual comet is discovered approaching Earth, bringing with it radiation that will wipe out all life on the planet.

The Ark
Revisado: 02-23-22
A great novel of an effort to save humanity from a deadly comet using an imaginary situation of cooperation between the military, the political, and the scientific communities to select those skilled to continue life on Earth.
Gripping, edge of seat, suspense is using advanced technology, and many dramatic individual story-lines of normal human relationships.
The Ark portrays humanity at its’ best while making preparation for a long sleep and to awaken to reboot civilized life on earth again.
Narration was at first difficult for me, with narrator changing voices and accents to match characters.
I personally would have preferred to have the story read to me without portrayal of individual voices; however, halfway into the story I realized the narrator had grown on me and began immensely enjoying his acting skills, fleshing out the characters made it easier to know who was talking.
I highly recommend The Ark.

Koontz at his best!
Revisado: 02-15-22
I have been a fan of Dean Koontz since my children were teenagers but By the Light of the Moon is, by far, one of the most entertaining of many Koontz books. The Audible reading was excellent entertainment. I highly recommend book and Audible selection.

Revisado: 06-15-19
The story was riveting and exciting. Loved the angel characters and their portrayal with earthly emotions. Just as humans make choices that can lead them down a broken path the angels also have individual and remarkable stories.
Jessica is special and even the angels know it.
Great characterization sucked me in and I couldn’t stop listening.
Brittany Presley’s voice and narration was awesome. I will be listening to the rest of the series
