Historia
For eons, conquering dungeons has been the most efficient way to become a strong adventurer. Although not everything is as straightforward as it seems. Several questions have always plagued the minds of those who enter these mythical places of power: why are there so many monsters? Where do the amazing weaponry and heavy gold coins come from? Why does the very air fill with life-giving energies? Cal has all of the answers to these age-old questions, for a very simple reason. He is a Dungeon Heart.

Well told and written fantasy story both dungeon core and adventurer isekai
Revisado: 02-17-25
Lots of world building and a dual perspective excellently woven together. Great fantasy story about a world where dark and light battle. In this battle a dungeon is born through evil action and an innocent sacrifice is made. The dungeon and its “discoverer” both grow until their future and very selves are interwoven.

The core of the town survived, and permanent casualties were low. Now that the survivors have a better understanding of what to expect, they go on a reconstruction spree...but why stop there? Every inch of their upgraded defenses will be more potent, durable, and deadlier than ever before.

Historia
The decision to start a new life is never an easy one, but for Joe the transition was far from figurative. Becoming a permanent addition to a game world, it doesn't take long to learn that people with his abilities are actively hunted. In fact, if the wrong people gained knowledge of what he was capable of, assassins would appear in droves.

Historia
It feels like a lifetime ago that the irreverent young Victor Sandoval was pulled from Earth into an existence of battle and brutality in a mystifyingly magical world where the more one fights, kills, and survives, the greater their levels, class, skills, and attributes. And right now, things are pretty freaking great for Victor. After causing the usual amount of mayhem elsewhere, he and his warrior-maiden ally, Valla, have finally taken a portal back to Fanwath—loaded up with more powers and treasure than they know what to do with.

An amazing walk through the physical and chemical foundation of modern society
Revisado: 03-06-24
An amazing book discussing the chemical and physical foundations of modern society through the lense of energy consumption.
The comparison between 21st, 20th and 18th centuries was amazing.
Smil adeptly explains that modern society is deeply tied to the petrochemical industry and its requirements go far beyond powering cars. With this understanding, any efforts to make meaningful environmental change must be imagined over generations - not decades.
I must admit some of Smil’s social analysis is simplistic, but his core structural, scientific and economic analyses make sense.
It’s a good and worthwhile read that effectively dismisses passionate and not well thought through claims and focuses on the raw science of where we really are. This book looks at facts and what’s true - it will not make environmental activists nor climate deniers happy as it puts a pin to many rhetorical balloons. It does however build a good fact base for a more reasoned analysis and practical considerations.

Great historical, imagining of most interesting pirate leaders the world has ever seen
Revisado: 12-21-23
The story was well taught told very interesting, and very graphically depicted. It certainly explained the challenges, and unfortunately difficult decisions that had to be made for so many people that were abducted by pirates enforce into their ranks in the south China Sea however, the protagonist played a much larger more important role historically, and I couldn’t help but think the story, and it separates to make it personal Never really described the height and significance of the protect this role.
