Narrator has a shrill voice which is unpleasant to listen to. Wanted to like it but wasn’t for me.

Great story overshadowed by dread.
Revisado: 12-23-23
This story had so much potential, and the writing is compelling - but I would say 40% of the details were unnecessary and interrupted the flow. Additionally, the book ends with still one of the main characters being controlled, manipulated and abused by her husband, and both women living in fear. There’s a HINT of how wonderful things could be EVENTUALLY, but in this book, eventually keeps getting kicked down the road. Started out great but the last part of the book was quite disheartening and disappointing. The author spends the majority of the time convincing the reader that these women deserve so much better, but never gives it to them. I will not get another book by this author, talented though she is.

Historia
Free-spirited and easygoing Taylor Vandenberg left her hometown of Faircombe, Tennessee, as soon as she could, and in the twenty-five years since, she has rarely looked back. She wouldn't change anything about how her life has turned out—having traveled to nearly every country, never staying anywhere long enough to feel stifled. Brooke Watson has known Taylor for her entire life, and lifelong knowledge means that Brooke knows she's trouble: irresponsible, takes nothing seriously, and irritatingly attractive.

Historia
Jacqueline Keys was ostracized from her small hometown of Pine Springs, Texas, when she was 17, sent away because she was gay. Fifteen years later - long after she'd hitch-hiked to Los Angeles, put herself through college, and had written her first best seller - Jacqueline is persuaded to go back to the tiny town of Pine Springs after her father's death. The quick trip she'd envisioned for the funeral turns into weeks as she learns her father's business is suddenly hers to manage. And she is also again face-to-face with the woman who, as a teen, had been Jackie's first crush.

SO WORTH IT!!!
Revisado: 05-05-21
Although some have hoped for a different ending, please know this one indicated being well on the path to deep fulfillment and happiness while leaving a realistic space for the fact that many details would certainly have to be worked out. What is assured is that the true devotion and commitment required are fully in place. Don’t miss this one!!

Historia
Leaving is what Julia Finch does best. When a meeting with her birth parents goes horribly wrong, Julia escapes on a hastily planned road trip and winds up breaking down in a Colorado town so small the cows outnumber the people. Completely out of her element, she takes a temporary job as a ranch hand at Bennett Ranch. She only has to survive long enough to get her car fixed, and then she’s out of there for good. Her bad luck continues when she meets the ranch owner, Elena Bennett. Elena is unhappy, abrasive, and annoyingly breathtaking.

Revisado: 01-21-20
There are not enough ways to describe the beauty and splendor of this story! The right mix of every flavor in just the right amounts! Setting, scenery, characters, page by page unfolding from one mesmerizing moment to the next. A wonderful narrative about how beautiful life can be when we let go of fear and risk trusting in love. Do this for yourself!

Historia
When Laura Fry returns to her childhood home to care for her invalid mother, she hopes the writer’s block that has swallowed her writing career will disappear. She doesn’t plan on turning into a “yard girl” but her mother’s long neglected lawn beckons her to return it to the lush and colorful display it had been before her mother’s accident. She also doesn’t plan on making friends with the “nympho lesbian” next door but she finds it impossible not to watch the parade of playmates the neighbor brings to her pool.

AN ALL-TIME FAVORITE!!
Revisado: 07-17-19
These are simply delightful people to spend time with and the setting of living next door to one another creates warmth and familiarity. Character development is real and the genuine feelings that grow over time are so endearing! The intimacy is true intimacy, therefore so much more intense and passionate than a romp in the sack.
Have lost count of how many times I’ve listen to this book, laughed out loud and been in awe of the beauty of unfolding love. And Laura’s mother is a HOOT!
