Historia
After 30 years spent scratching together a middle-class life out of a “dirt poor” childhood, Joe Bageant moved back to his hometown of Winchester, Virginia, where he realized that his family and neighbors were the very people who carried George W. Bush to victory. That was ironic, because Winchester, like countless American small towns, is fast becoming the bedrock of a permanent underclass.

Educational, Entertaning, "Worth the Listen".
Revisado: 09-22-19
The content Is, as described in the headline.... No matter the "socio-economic" status that you were raised in, this will hit home with you, and those "classes" outside your status of upbringing. The historical content (set in the earlier 2000's and previous-based on original publication) is quite encompassing, and should be a "Must-read" for students in taking American History, Economics', or Political Science.. Any and ALL of our "out of touch" legislators would benefit from this "review in Blue-Collar Americana, IMO. Entertaining anecdotes, analogies and stories throughout. The narrator's "Southern (Virginian) Accent" feels "forced" at times, (4 stars instead of 5 on performance) but I recommended it to others.. Randal H. (Virginia)

Nothing New Constructive
Revisado: 09-22-19
Spend your time practicing, not on this book.... A lot of Blah, Blah, Blah for common sense ideas... After a couple of chapters of "run-on" ad nauseum and redundancy, I noted that the summarized idea for each was "stated" in the first few phrases... Fast Forwarded through the content in a few minutes.---Randal H.
