Historia
Cass is having a hard time since the night she saw the car in the woods, on the winding rural road, in the middle of a downpour, with the woman sitting inside - the woman who was killed. She's been trying to put the crime out of her mind; what could she have done, really? It's a dangerous road to be on in the middle of a storm. Her husband would be furious if he knew she'd broken her promise not to take that shortcut home. And she probably would only have been hurt herself if she'd stopped.

I couldn't stand main character....
Revisado: 12-07-17
What would have made The Breakdown better?
A better plot. I figured it out about half way through.
Has The Breakdown turned you off from other books in this genre?
It hasn't, but it was just the same dribble.
How could the performance have been better?
She was good, it just wasn't a good story.
What character would you cut from The Breakdown?
The main character, Cass. She's ANNOYING. She has dementia...but it's the way the character is written...she is weak & pathetic. It's the way she's written. I like strong female characters.
Any additional comments?
I love who-dunnit type of books, but I had this figured out pretty soon. I knew who was involved & it just lost all for me. The main character too was pathtic. Going over all the text messages was also annoying although I realize it was needed...but it was a bit overkill after a while. Didn't need to hear as much in the story about all text messages as it was obvious already who & why.

Fell in love
Revisado: 11-14-17
At first I️ wasn’t into the book. But after about 10-15 mins I was sucked in. The characters & story is amazing!!!! The characters became people to me. Their stories became real. I was an activist for HIV/AIDS in 1995-1998 time. So this was such a rich story for me with this issue as the backdrop & forefront. Beautifully performed with different actors giving life to Mateo, Millie, Hector, Jared, Drew, Ricky, Issy, Char & others. This is beautifully told & woven.

Interesting...
Revisado: 09-19-17
The ending is brutal. There are some parts that seem to "drag" a bit. I felt there were also many parts that were anticlimactic. Good read but wouldn't necessarily recommend.

Lo Blacklock, a journalist who writes for a travel magazine, has just been given the assignment of a lifetime: a week on a luxury cruise with only a handful of cabins. The sky is clear, the waters calm, and the veneered, select guests jovial as the exclusive cruise ship, the Aurora, begins her voyage in the picturesque North Sea. At first Lo's stay is nothing but pleasant: The cabins are plush, the dinner parties are sparkling, and the guests are elegant. But as the week wears on, frigid winds whip the deck, and gray skies fall.

Couldn't stop listening
Revisado: 05-04-17
If you could sum up What Alice Forgot in three words, what would they be?
Corky, fun, & suprising
What did you like best about this story?
The narration real really made it come to life. It was a regular story with so many turns and twists and I fell in love with the characters. I so wanted Alice and her husband to be together. I loved finding out as the main character did about the pieces of her life. Classic Moriarty taking a mundane life & turning it into a masterful puzzle. Love her books, I've devoured 4 thru Audible!!!
Which character – as performed by Tamara Lovatt-Smith – was your favorite?
ALL OF THEM!! Of course Alice is enduring & done so well! I love this Narrator. I want to listen to her all the time.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The ending. I don't want to spoil it but Moriarty surprises you when you think you won't be. She ties all the pieces together in such a lovely way.
Any additional comments?
One of my favorite reads so far! I can't wait to come back to it in a few months and read it again. I highly recommend this author and also the Narrator.

It was a good story. Although a bit predictable. It was rather long winded at times. But still liked it. Good for in the car listening.

I love how the three main characters had a different actor. It helped to really get into this. I read some bad reviews, but I really enjoyed this. It's a good who done it with a surprise ending.
