Historia
Exclusively from Audible. 'It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.' So begins Charles Dickens' most famous historical drama: a gripping tale of war, social injustice and the choice between darkness and light. After being unjustly imprisoned for 18 years, French doctor Manette is released from the Bastille jail in Paris and embarks upon a journey to London in the hope of finding the daughter he never met.

The ending is worth is all

in the very first chapters I questioned quite a bit, but oh boy was I surprised-seeing it unfold is just about as satisfying as it gets. if I was reading this I probably would have given up, but due to the narrator I enjoyed most of it. the parts I didn't enjoy were - perhaps as most peoples, the gory death scenes (although they were needed to describe the horrors of the French Revolution) the last lines of the book went strait to my quotes journal and narration for school.
going into this I would say, don't expect to never doubt Dickens, but don't always trust the plot - because it will surprise you.

Historia
Korean Sun-hee and her brother, Tae-yul, must study Japanese language and culture in school. The symbols of their beloved Korea - like its flag and the rose of Sharon tree - can never be displayed or mentioned in public. When the emperor of Japan decrees that all Koreans must take Japanese names, Sun-hee and Tae-yul become Keoko and Nobuo. But as World War II explodes all around them, Sun-hee and Tae-yul wage their own war to stay true to their family, their country, and themselves.

A must read

I listened in two days and it was absolutely unforgettable. I love the sister-brother duo. I love historical fiction, but even if you don't it's still a great book. it's important to not only understand American history, but Korean, and Japanese too, it's a whole new view to these events, and an important message; everyone deserves freedom, and a choice.
