I have learned so many surprising historical things about famous people during WW2 from this author and his books.
He is also such a beautiful writer and storyteller. Every one of his books are worth listening to or reading. This one was very surprising to learn about the life of Rosemary Kennedy.

A Beautiful Russian Fairytale .
Revisado: 01-28-19
I loved the Winter Night Series as I have listened to these Stories while cuddled in their magic with soft and warm blankets these long winter nights.
The stories will capture you; spellbound
and in love with Vasia and Solovei, and The Bear and The Winter King.
The narrator's talent lends itself as a beautiful, hypnotic Russian voice to the epic tale.
The author's knowledge of The Winter Land of Russia; of Russian History and her Folklore, of its' Ancient Culture, the Movement of early Christianity, and the fierce struggle to protect the beliefs of the Ancient gods and those of Nature herself all give rise to the Magic of a Strong, Beautiful, Clever Girl and her Magic, Magnificent Friend, a bay stallion, on an Epic Quest to protect the Spirits of Land and Sky, those of the Old Religion as she leaves behind all she loves, and all who love her, to fight for the Goodness in all that is most important of the most basic of all beliefs, the human struggle to learn the meaning of Eternal Love and Immortal Life.

Historia
Winter lasts most of the year at the edge of the Russian wilderness, and in the long nights, Vasilisa and her siblings love to gather by the fire to listen to their nurse’s fairy tales. Above all, Vasya loves the story of Frost, the blue-eyed winter demon. Wise Russians fear him, for he claims unwary souls, and they honor the spirits that protect their homes from evil. Then Vasya’s widowed father brings home a new wife from Moscow. Fiercely devout, Vasya’s stepmother forbids her family from honoring their household spirits, but Vasya fears what this may bring.

storyline and narration
Revisado: 07-25-18
This story could have been an epic.
The concept was very good.
It left me wanting more. More meat to sink my teeth into. Deeper character development. More detail.
I could tell the narrator did not read the story first before his narration. His representation of the urgency, danger and building relationship of the main characters and their terrifying experience with the antagonist left me disappointed.
The story might be better if you read it yourself.

The characters and their stories in this series are very special. Thank you for creating them. The narration is phenomenal. Tyler's ramblings are so male and so hilarious. I love a good love story. I have fallen in love with these.

Eight weeks ago I signed a contract. It seemed like a good idea at the time: a handsome bachelor, luxury accommodations, and a chance to win a prize my family desperately needed. There were some rules, though - lots of them actually. I had to follow the script and avoid dating, sex, or disclosing the terms of the deal. After my self-imposed moratorium on men last year, it wouldn't be hard to live up to my end of the bargain...or so I thought.

From New York Times & USA Today Bestseller, Vi Keeland, comes a steamy new romance novel. The rules: No dating. No sex outside of the game. No disclosing the terms of the contract. Rules were made to be broken, right? Eight weeks ago I signed a contract. One that seemed like a good idea at the time. Historia
Like most gentiles in Nazi-occupied Paris, architect Lucien Bernard has little empathy for the Jews. So when a wealthy industrialist offers him a large sum of money to devise secret hiding places for Jews, Lucien struggles with the choice of risking his life for a cause he doesn't really believe in. Ultimately he can't resist the challenge and begins designing expertly concealed hiding spaces - behind a painting, within a column, or inside a drainpipe - detecting possibilities invisible to the average eye. But when one of his clever hiding spaces fails and the immense suffering of Jews becomes incredibly personal, he can no longer deny reality.

A bird's eye view of heroism in the face of evil
Revisado: 04-04-18
Would you listen to The Paris Architect again? Why?
I would listen to the Paris Architect again as the description of the characters and Paris itself as its own character were so rich that it's hard to absorb it all in one performance.
Have you listened to any of Mark Bramhall’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This was the first performance it have listened to of Mark Bramhall. He immediately immersed me into a believable story.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When the SS captain found the hidden space under the stairs.
Any additional comments?
If you are looking for another story of the French Occupation and Resistance, this is one I would recommend. It is very compelling.
