Would you consider the audio edition of Haunted House to be better than the print version?

I did not read the print version. I do the majority of my books via audio books due to lack of time to read the print version.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Moni. Really enjoyed the character, and where she goes in the story. Really rooted for her.

What does Rob Shapiro bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He really brought everything to life for me. I wondered several times while reading this if I would have liked it as much if I had just read the print version. I will definitely seek out other books he has narrated.

If you could take any character from Haunted House out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Moni.

I knew nothing about this book going in. I was hurrying through Audible and this popped up as a recommendation. I did a quick scan of the summary, downloaded it and started to listen that night. I was hooked right off the bat. I had no idea until I was going to do this review that these characters are from other books, so this definitely is a stand alone book. Very happy with the purchase of this audio book, and will be seeking out other material from this author.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I guess I'll start by saying that I am a King fan from his beginning years. I discovered Night Shift in my parents attic when I was a teen in the 80's, and it terrified me. I was hooked. However, in the past 15 years, he has constantly disappointed me. why do I keep throwing my hard earned money at him? I am what you would call a completist. After listening to this story, I think I can just classify myself as a glutton for punishment. The story was mediocre. The narration is what really put the nail int he coffin. Am I the only one that heard this guy go from and English accent back into a Maine one? And not with other characters, it was him talking as the main one. The trumpet sound he made actually made me shut the story off a few times because it was so grating. It used to be that everytime I picked up or listened to a King story/book, i was always engrossed. Now I am always disappointed.

Would you recommend Drunken Fireworks to your friends? Why or why not?

Not at all.

Would you be willing to try another one of Tim Sample’s performances?

With hesitation.

Did Drunken Fireworks inspire you to do anything?

Yes. Shut my iPod off several times while listening to the story.
