Historia
Winner of the 1921 Pulitzer Prize, The Age of Innocence is Edith Wharton’s masterful portrait of desire and betrayal which takes place in the sumptuous Golden Age of Old New York, and questions the morals and assumptions of the elite New York society set in the 1870s when "scandal was more dreaded than disease."

First time listening to a favorite book.
Revisado: 10-17-21
I have read The Age of Innocence several times and watched Martin Scorsese’s movie adaptation at least twice. I picked this version of the audio book because I trusted that Joanne Woodward would be a reliable narrator and I wasn’t disappointed. Edith Wharton is a brilliant writer and portrayer of the New York society of her time. I recommend this book to first time readers and those, like me, for whom this is also a favorite.
