Historia
Demon-beasts claim I have a power that threatens their plans of mass destruction. Joke's on them, since I have no idea how to use it. That doesn't stop them from coming after me, though. Hot, broody, wolf shifter Kol and his friend Grim are the only things standing between me and the creatures trying to kill me. They say they're my best bet to survive. But there's another who wants me too: Helix hunts me relentlessly and says he won't stop until I belong to him instead. The elders say I can only pick one as my guardian. The thing is, I've never been good at following orders.

Wonderful introduction to the series
Revisado: 08-31-22
Really I rate this a 4.5. It’s a nice slow burn, fade to black, story. It starts off a bit strangely and left me confused right alongside the main character until her guardians finally decided to explain things. The fade to black and the scene following that could have been done better though so as to not be so abrupt.
The narration isn’t bad, but there are places where the ‘narrator’ voice is jarring such as right after a character whispers. Other than that, this was overall well done.

Pretty Good RH
Revisado: 07-05-20
Slayers and Protectors is among my favorite RH stories thus far. The first book was a little slow, but things picked up nicely in the second and third books.
For me, there was something missing with the emotional development and some subplots just don't feel as complete as they could have been. That said, it was overall an excellent series.

Historia
Years ago, when violent purges plunged Dún Aulin into chaos, Warden Esben Berengar was sent to restore order by any means necessary. He did so with such brutal efficiency he became known throughout Fál as the High Queen’s Monster. All is not forgiven. When the hunt for a mysterious enemy leads Berengar back to Dún Aulin, an old friend’s request thrusts him headfirst into danger. In the Ceremony of the Cursed Blade, the sword used by the Lord of Shadows in his conquest of Fál will change possession, and it’s up to Berengar to keep the blade from falling into the wrong hands.

Wonderful continuation of the story
Revisado: 05-29-20
It was nice to see how the character development made in the previous book took hold and really shown as the characters tried to tie up loose ends. Of course, things could never too easily and we end up on another heart warming, parlous adventure.
The only part that bothered me was towards the end where the story switched between fights. While a scene break would denote the shift in print, the shift was a little jarring in the audiobook format.

I'm a sucker for mythology and characters who struggle with childhood trauma... and this checks off both.
I love the use of some of the original myths and the different take on how the world is laid out. The main character is realistic, with faults and a smidge of an annoying streak that adds to her character.
The only reason I didn't give this book five stars is because of how some chapters switched points of view in quick succession, leaving me a little lost for a moment... that said, the multiple points of view definitely add to the story, so I understand why they are there, I just wish some areas were trimmed down a bit.
Overall, I definitely recommend this book/set of books and want to know what happens next.

Yet, Vi can’t help but wonder if her inability to control her magic is the true reason her parents haven’t brought her home. Lost, yet right where she's meant to be.
Revisado: 03-03-20
I absolutely love this series. I've been on the hunt for audiobooks similar to Sarah J. Maas's YA novels and this is the first one I've come across that has a similar feel.
I love the plot, the characters, the world building. and how the relationships progress. Basically, it is overall a fantastic book, definitely worth a try.

Dang... just dang...
Revisado: 03-03-20
If you thought the story couldn't get better than book 1, then you would be mistaken.
Though one chapter of Vi's life comes to a close in the book, another one begins and then we are left on a cliff hanger after having our hearts ripped out... even so, it was well worth the heart ripping as I have a feeling that it will provide some much needed character development for Vi to help with her naivety.
Overall, I can't wait to listen to book 3.

Even better than the last!
Revisado: 01-01-20
Thus far, this has been one of those series that just keeps getting better. I love the way the different paths the characters take intertwine to create a ripple effect for good or bad.
With this audiobook, I would highly recommend listening to the first two books in the series before this one as you may end up a bit lost otherwise.
And as I said in my review of the second book— Caitlin Davies is quickly climbing the ranks of my favorite narrators and the same can be said for the author, Eileen Mueller. The way they weave the points of view and tap into the essence of the characters is very nice and keeps you on your toes. So if you are looking for an action packed story full of family, friendship, and love, then this is most definitely something you should give a shot.

Another Fantastic Story
Revisado: 12-21-19
I'll begin by warning that if you just finished devouring the first book in the series, then the first few chapters are going to be boring as the book begins in the same place only in a different point of view. The way the story begins you could probably start with this book, though you will miss out on all the hints, backstory, and other tidbits... likely making the story much less satisfying and making book one lose much of its suspense when you backtrack to pick up that thread of the story.
That said, Caitlin Davies is quickly climbing the ranks of my favorite narrators and the same can be said for the author, Eileen Mueller. The way they weave the points of view and tap into the essence of the characters is very nice and keeps you on your toes. So if you are looking for an action packed story full of family, friendship, and love, then this is most definitely something you should give a shot.

I'm glad I didn't attempt to listen to this one during the semester... it is addictive, exciting, and has several twists along the way. The love, passion, and hardships throughout the story are very well done.

A coming of age story
Revisado: 10-20-19
The story was well written and had some very well done turn of events. There were a few parts that seemed a bit forced, but they were fairly minor and didn't really effect my overall opinion of the story.
The narration, relatively well done, could benefit from having the background noise cleaned up. There were also a few times where the character voice changed when it shouldn't have, but this only happen two or three times.
Overall, I would recommend this audiobook and am looking forward to listening to the next book in the series.
