Historia
Bernadette Fox is notorious. To her Microsoft-guru husband, she's a fearlessly opinionated partner; to fellow private-school mothers in Seattle, she's a disgrace; to design mavens, she's a revolutionary architect, and to 15-year-old Bee, she is a best friend and, simply, Mom.
Then Bernadette disappears. It began when Bee aced her report card and claimed her promised reward: a family trip to Antarctica. But Bernadette's intensifying allergy to Seattle - and people in general - has made her so agoraphobic that a virtual assistant in India now runs her most basic errands.

The narrator brought this book to life. She was fun, funny, and delightful. Her character interpretations were spit on. The story itself was a bit far-fetched but certainly captured my interest - where was this going. Relationships between mother/daughter, father/daughter, and husband/wife were primary. Excellent read for someone trying to raise kids in today’s world. I also enjoyed the information about the Article and Antarctic.

This was a sweet book (with some drama) celebrating Thanksgiving holiday. As with any family gathering, there’s a twist. I loved it.

There is a great deal of historical information here that I was unaware of. I have much research to do to catch up. The book is written in three parts with the fourth part being a ‘where are they now section’. I’m going to start reading Andy’s other books. I loved this book!

My granddaughter and me
Revisado: 08-16-19
My 10-year-old granddaughter asked me to read the series. She had already read the books 3 times. She read them 3 more times while I read through the series once. She’s a dedicated fan, for sure. It has been a fun journey discussing the books and watching the movies with her. Now I’m going to try to share The Laura Ingalls books with her. 🤗

Intense
Revisado: 06-27-19
This genre is not something I would ever choose. Had just finished several historical novels and was looking for something short and light to accompany me on a late evening bike ride. Evil Eye was in my library because it was free so I started it not knowing what to expect. I was hooked from the first phone call. When my bike ride ended I couldn’t stop listening. There was very little offensive language or abuse description, certainly not enough to turn away a listener. It was a fun listen. I’m going to play it again to make sure I didn’t miss anything. Happy listening!

Historia
A poignant, evocative, and wonderfully gossipy account of the two sisters who represented style and class above all else - Jackie Kennedy Onassis and Lee Radziwill - from the authors of Furious Love. Drawing on the authors’ candid interviews with Lee Radziwill, The Fabulous Bouvier Sisters explores their complicated relationship, placing them at the center of 20th-century fashion, design, and style. This dual biography sheds light on the public and private lives of two extraordinary women who lived through immense tragedy in enormous glamour.

2 Sisters
Revisado: 03-25-19
I found the book to be very whiny about how two sisters were always in competition with each other and were never happy with their lot in life. At my ripe old age of 70, money, clothes, etc., aren’t important. Relationships and character are. I wasn’t impressed with the poor little rich girl scenario.

I loved the end of this book. It wasn’t what I was prepared for. I cherish my true friends who know my heart and surprise me with their depth of understanding. While there were times during the storytelling I thought there was too much information, the wait was worth it. Great read/listen. Georgia’s lovely voice was very easy to listen to. Great job BA Paris. Enjoy!
