Historia
It began on New Year’s Eve. The sickness came on suddenly, and spread quickly. The fear spread even faster. Within weeks, everything people counted on began to fail them. The electrical grid sputtered; law and government collapsed - and more than half of the world’s population was decimated. Where there had been order, there was now chaos. And as the power of science and technology receded, magick rose up in its place.

Apocalyptic
Revisado: 10-28-23
My wife is a big Nora Roberts fan, so when i saw this book pop up in the half-price sale i purchased. I write this review after listening to all three books in this series so will try not to leave many spoilers. This is an end of the world book with a series of struggles between good and evil, or light and dark. Magical abilities have awoken in many of the survivors with some embracing the light and others turning to the dark. The story follows three different groups of these survivors as they flee New York city and eventually meet up at a little town in Virginia that they name "New Hope". The characters are likable and develop strong friendships as they struggle to build a new community. Book 1 ends with the birth of "The One", Fallon Swift, a young girl that is prophesized to lead the forces of light to vanquish the dark. Nora Roberts writes with this story with a lot of emotion. Her characters are well developed and give the listener a sense that they too could be friends. Julia Whelan's performance is outstanding as she brings the many characters to life. Book 2 follows Fallon's magical training and her journey to New Hope and her struggles as she assumes the leadership role in the conflict against the dark. Book 3 chronicles a series of major battles that eventually wind back to the beginning and climax with the final battle between light and dark. The pace of these books is fairly quick, and Nora doesn't get bogged down with long descriptions of the battles but focuses on character's emotions and interactions during and after.

Good Ending
Revisado: 06-15-22
I love books that have a satisfying ending in case I can't read them sequentially. These did not disappoint, fast pace action with some suspence and a little romance thrown in.

Exciting Story with a Great Ending
Revisado: 06-01-22
I really enjoyed these stories. The story line between the two books is seamless. The strong family bonds within the gypsy clans and sisterhood strengthen Ryana as she struggles against the various villains and prejudices of the medieval society in which the story takes place. Gabrielle de Cuir is an excellent narrator and brings life to Ryana and the other characters.

Well done!!
Revisado: 03-22-22
I started with the free books in the Plus Catalogue, enjoyed them so much that i bought extra credits and finished the entire series in a week or so. Jace and Abigail are very strong characters and easy to like. The Nameless book provides the back story for Abigail. Jace's back story is given in snippets throughout this series. This story follows the Hero's Arc outline, flawed characters facing overwhelming odds and achieving greatness in the struggle. The ending is very satisfying and leaves the reader feeling good about the lengthy time investment in the story. I gave the story four stars because it tended to lag in several places. The story arc circled itself is several places, such as the ring worlds, and i felt that the author was just adding chapters to fill out the book. Also, at times Jace is completely trusting of his path and follows his instincts without hesitation, at other times he pulls back and wastes hours contemplating whether or not to continue the path. For instance, entering the Precursor Artifact to activate the weapon. Luke Daniels narration is great and brings all the characters to life with different voices and emotions. I will definitely be looking for other books with his narration. One note for Audible is that the 12-hour format of the publisher's pack format should have expanded to include more books in each pack: perhaps four books instead of two. The current format is rather expensive, and you have to juggle the decision of extra credits or a 6-month comment if you choose to only use your monthly credits.

Bad Investment
Revisado: 02-27-22
I feel cheated by this book. Sorry for the spoilers, but the ending of this book caught me by surprise. I have followed Mr. Wong through all six books and loved the way the author wrapped up the storyline in each of the previous five with a fairly good positive ending. Throughout this book we struggled with our hero not being able to see that he walked away from his soul mate early in the story when he moved off his old ship to start his "Owner's Share" journey. After a long, slow, series of events they finally reunite for a few chapters only to have her tragically killed off. The story throws in a plot twist to attempt an explanation for this event and ends rather abruptly without bringing closure for any of the characters. I started this series by listening to the first two books from the Plus Catalog then purchasing the next four, so my investment for this series was almost $50. Maybe I am just a sucker for fairy tale type endings, but this book left me feeling depressed and wanting a more positive outcome.

Great Story - Not What I Expected
Revisado: 02-22-22
This performance reminded me of a radio theater. The different voice actors and sound effects made for a very interesting book. A impact event bringing about the rise of vampires was a new twist on on these seasoned story lines. I am looking forward to the next book.

Historia
First, the bad news: an ancient evil—you know, your standard consume-all-life-in-the-galaxy deal—is about to be unleashed. The good news? Squad 312 is standing by to save the day. They've just got to take care of a few small distractions first. Like the clan of gremps who'd like to rearrange their favorite faces. And the cadre of illegit GIA agents with creepy flowers where their eyes used to be, who'll stop at nothing to get their hands on Auri. Then there's Kal's long-lost sister, who's not exactly happy to see her baby brother and has a Syldrathi army at her back.

No ending.
Revisado: 09-05-21
The story ended with 3 separate battles raging and our characters seconds away from death in each. This is no way to leave me hanging till the next book comes out. My advice would be not to start reading till the whole story is available. Also a general comment about the all the different narrators, I hate it as nothing is added to the story that couldn't be done by a single talented narator. I find the multiple voices distracting.

The Neri are well adapted to their world, but their survival is in jeopardy.

I got book 1 as a free download and have been drawn into this series. I enjoy the flawed characters that must work together to resolve the conflict that firms the backbone of each story. I am looking forward to the next 4 books (?) to see how the John Bandicot story ends.

A really strong continuation from Junkyard Cats. This is a short story currently free on Audible. We pick up some hardware, form new alliances and kill some really bad people. I am looking forward to the next book in this series, there are so many ways the story can progress.
